If one does not know that the nature of result and cause is inseparable, and that it is spontaneously perfect from the beginning, then meditating on emptiness as a path, hoping that the result—the Dharmakaya—will arise from somewhere else, and striving to meditate with conceptual clinging, this is straying onto the wrong path. Whatever afflictions and thoughts arise, their essence has never gone beyond emptiness from the beginning, so there is no need for afflictions to be abandoned and emptiness as an antidote as two separate things. Rather, when the object to be abandoned is recognized by awareness, it is naturally liberated like a snake's knot unraveling. If one does not understand this key point, and if one needs to separately meditate on emptiness as an antidote on top of the thoughts and afflictions to be abandoned, then this is straying into the antidote. Straying into proliferation means that whether it is with or without elaboration, if one does not understand that it is spontaneously perfect as the great union of clarity and emptiness in the vast expanse of Samantabhadri, then the clinging meditator and the clinging to practice without object are not integrated, leading to the separation of skillful means and wisdom. Or, without cultivating the continuity of ordinary awareness beyond the mind with the attitude of no object, if one keeps the initial state of awareness in mind, there is no meditator and no object of meditation. Everything is emptiness. Everything is the Dharmakaya. Cause and effect are not true. It is mind. It is thought. Nothing is established, etc. This is called proliferation with a decisive view of emptiness, and this is very common nowadays. In short, if meditation falls into the hands of the meditator, wanting to go to the place of all supreme qualities, then the three hidden places of straying, fault, and error, and the narrow path are very numerous. If one does not discern these experiences, even if one is skilled in eloquence and words, as it is said in Dzogchen: "Experience is like a mist, it vanishes and goes." Just like that, even small good or bad circumstances will deceive the meditator, and seeking on the circumstances will be bound by the circumstances. Therefore, if one does not grasp the key points of dispelling obstacles and increasing qualities with special emphasis, then one will make strict vows not to associate with people; or bind oneself with a tormented, resentful mind and strict physical postures; or practice deity yoga, recite mantras, practice channels and winds, etc. How can one attain liberation and enlightenment by only painfully seeking and buying? As it is said in the Holy Collection Sutra: "If someone stays in a mountain cave of five hundred yojanas, filled with snakes, for many millions of years, this solitary place"

The bodhisattva who does not know, obtains excessive pride and abides. So it is said. Therefore, having understood the key of taking whatever arises as the path, in the hermitage of the body, the practitioner of the mind abides in solitude, and there is no path more decisive than that practice alone. Without relying on the deeds of yearly retreats and monthly retreats, but setting one's life as the standard, one strives to maintain the unaltered natural state. Whatever good or bad thoughts arise, one does not patch them up with clinging, thinking, "This is a thought," nor does one cauterize the things to be abandoned with antidotes. Like an old man watching a child's game, one practices day and night without interruption in a state of non-appearance and freedom from elaboration, thus perfecting the skill of higher vision and non-conceptualization. Whatever arises—states, movements, memories, awareness, good thoughts, bad thoughts—one gains a firm foothold in the expanse of rig-emptiness, beyond mind, the Great Perfection. Therefore, in the Great Perfection it says, "Realization is like the sky; it does not change." Like that, although the yogi's body appears like an ordinary person, the mind abides in the dharmakaya, free from effort. Therefore, whatever appears in the mandala of the lama of existence and samsara is the natural display of wisdom, the appearances of objects are symbols and examples, the grounds and paths are effortless, spontaneously accomplished. From the expanse of primordial liberation of samsara and nirvana, the teachings and the benefit of beings arise effortlessly and spontaneously. When the bonds of the body are broken, just as the sky inside a vase merges inseparably with the sky outside when the vase is broken, in the primordial base, the youthful vase body manifests enlightenment, free from the discriminating consciousness of knowing and known. That is the ultimate goal to be accomplished. Here it is said: The false appearance of conventional delusion is a great lie. In the nature of the great expanse of awareness, fully matured. The movements, memories, and activities of the mind are like a child's dance. In the state of memory beyond mind, quietly rest. Do not be intoxicated by the sleep of ignorance, which is drunk by good thoughts that aspire to high views, and bad thoughts that fall into the prison of doubt. Let the original awareness naturally relax and abide there. For the empty talk that is as vast as an open mouth, and the suffering of climbing on the cliff of change, etc. With the profound words of the vajra verses of the lineage of realization. Subdue them many times with a few words.
