There is no such thing as a place of deviation, a place of error, or a place of loss. Even so, although this Dharma is the supreme of vehicles, beings have various superior, inferior, and middling qualities, and it is difficult to gather those with only the highest faculties. Therefore, between the one to be trained and the one who trains, there is confusion and loss, and even if one meditates, it is difficult to generate qualities, and this fault arises from this. If we consider the case of gradual arising, then the three of understanding, experience, and realization in meditation, if combined with the stages of the common vehicle, then the path of accumulation understands, the path of joining experiences, and the path of seeing realizes." } ] ============================================================

The words of the wise masters seem very important. Nowadays, many people take understanding as genuine practice and tend to expand on it. What is that like? This kind of meditation, which is relaxed and loose, without any conceptualization of clarity and emptiness, mostly produces only a feeling of comfort when it arises. 'This is my meditation. No one knows more than I do. I have realized this,' such pride can also arise. Therefore, if one is not taken care of by a qualified lama at this time, as it is said in Dzogchen, 'Understanding is like a patch, dragging along.' As it is said, when good or bad circumstances are encountered, there are many cases where they separate like water and milk. Moreover, it is somewhat easy for bad circumstances to become part of the path, but it is very difficult for good circumstances to become part of the path. Therefore, those who consider themselves to have high realization only focus on the benefits of this life and are completely bound by the distractions of Mara. This is because they have not understood the key to the self-liberation of the six consciousnesses. Nowadays, this is taken as a sign of wonder and accomplishment, so those who speak of this are like white crows. However, those who sincerely practice the Dharma should not interrupt their meditation with conceptual and wavering views at this time. Instead, they should diligently practice guru yoga in four sessions each day, and after receiving the four empowerments, in a state of blending mind and awareness, release awareness freely, and do not let the nature of that experience become unfounded and baseless, but imprint it on the heart. Similarly, regarding experiences, there are emptiness experiences that are more inclined towards calm abiding, and clarity experiences that are more inclined towards insight. In short, if one can recognize the flaws of thoughts and the light of discriminating wisdom shines, so that both stillness and movement can be transformed into meditation, although one has such abilities, the grasping of 'I' and 'mine' is very strong in the nature of the knower, and one easily falls into the habit of discrimination and thinking. These are very subtle obscurations of knowledge, which are very frightening. Therefore, do not rush to label thoughts as Dharmakaya, but rather use the present awareness, which is undamaged and unbiased, as an antidote for the meditator, and without being bound by attachment to views, use it openly and freely. Other than that, if one falls into the trap of discrimination in the understanding of equality and subsequent attainment, then there will be the dangers of straying, error, and loss. If one does not recognize these
