Showing that it is neither beneficial nor harmful. In the Clear Light Tantra, "The Lion's Perfect Prowess," it says: 'Without cultivating awareness, it is spontaneously accomplished. Because of cultivation, I am not found. From the beginning, it is naturally effortless. Because of examination, I am not seen. The Dharmakaya is originally without boundaries. Because of observation, I am not seen.' Thus it is said. In particular, distinguishing between the self-aware wisdom that is originally pure and the deluded forms of mind and ignorance, one cultivates without remainder in the vast expanse of awareness. The habitual tendencies of the movements of mind and thoughts are directly purified, and it is taught that one transcends error. However, it is difficult to realize this as it is, except for those with extremely sharp faculties who awaken in an instant. Here, the essence of what is specifically said is that the nature of reality has no increase or decrease, no good or bad, and nothing to be gained. However, it is only the conceptual thoughts of its function that separate samsara and nirvana and deceive meditators. Therefore, its nature is carefully examined. This can also be considered in terms of gradual arising. There are three ways to liberate conceptual thoughts, according to the followers of the great scholar Vimalamitra. Thus, liberating by recognizing conceptual thoughts is like meeting someone you know; liberating conceptual thoughts themselves is like a snake's knot unraveling; liberating conceptual thoughts into the Dharmakaya without benefit or harm is like a thief in an empty house. The first of these, explained with three examples, is: When conceptual thoughts suddenly arise from the state of abiding in clear, empty, one-pointed awareness, this is awareness, which is similar to the formless gods. If you distinguish it, the continuity of the sense objects is cut off, like limitless space; like deep sleep, sensations are cut off, and there is nothing; clarity in the knowing, and cessation in appearance, is limitless consciousness; there is a moderate amount of bliss, but in appearance, one realizes that there is nothing, which is neither existent nor nonexistent, the nature is vast, and it is distinguished by the clouds of the profound ocean of the All-Knowing Great One. The first exists from the time of birth, and there are two things: the conceptual thoughts to be observed and the memory of the observer. Therefore, dualistic grasping is the root of samsara, the source of suffering, and the obstacle on the paths and bhumis. Therefore, it is important to recognize it whether it remains or moves. This is a very dangerous place when it becomes the realm of realization. So, some wise and accomplished ones of the past have said this in response to questions. Is it correct?

Therefore, it should be known that this is for beginners, those who practice with faith and understanding, instructing the actual ground of mindfulness meditation, and guiding them in that situation. It is not a situation of directly explaining the Great Perfection path of sudden transcendence, as it is. If you don't think so, then in the commentary on the All-Knowing Great Master's oral instruction text, "The Wish-Fulfilling Treasure," "The White Lotus," it says: "Some meditators nowadays think that the current awareness, the downward movement, the wandering, and the three rosaries are free from elaboration. Whatever appears, however it changes, if you recognize it in your mind, that's enough. Those who count the arising and ceasing are as far from the meaning of reality as heaven and earth." As it is said, you are those without Dharma fortune. Secondly, if you can cultivate without attachment to that, then from the clinging to the object of observation and the observer, with single-pointed samadhi, without needing to observe, the conceptual thought itself recognizes itself, and thus becomes self-liberated, which is named liberation like a snake's knot. If we speak in Dharma language, it is a subsequent attainment yogi who is supported by skillful means. Although this is considered to be with characteristics in other vehicles, Great Perfection practitioners say that the sharp awareness of the recognizer is a confusing obscuration, and they believe that there is a subtle obscuration of knowledge of duality. Therefore, abiding is also recognized, and changing is also recognized. If a yogi who has realized the Dharmadhatu examines this, there is a very subtle distinction, so this is not the intention of the ultimate yoga. Regarding this, in the special philosophical view, closing the eyes of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and the intention of the Great Perfection of self-nature, in secluded places such as empty caves, the shelter of rocks, and inside beds, relying only on faith and the power of diligent effort, some people mistakenly think that they have attained the secret treasure of Longchen Nyingtik, which is a delusion. And logicians say: 'If even the conceptual thought of the recognizer is absent, then it is the same as the dark and dull view of the Heshang.' So they say. The answer is that Heshang did not have the key to distinguish between the object, mind, conceptual thought, and the awareness of the object, so that when the mind and consciousness were not distinguished, in the state of non-prediction, all memory, thought, and feeling ceased, and he fell into a state of fainting or dullness like deep sleep. The mistaken view of Heshang that you think of is like this.
