Oh! Even if you cultivate on the fruit of power, no fruit will be produced. The seasons are reversed and unstable. Therefore, the seven actions of body and speech are forms that are indicative and obstructive, and their power is perfected only when all four conditions of basis, intention, action, and ultimate completion are met. Third, regarding the three aspects of mind: Covetousness is attachment to the possessions of others, experiencing their taste through the activity of the mind, and possessing them with a miserly attitude. Its result corresponding to the cause is that the mind's intentions are not fulfilled, and unwanted things befall one. The fruit of power is poor harvests and many sufferings from bad circumstances and times. Harmful intent is the desire to torment others with hatred and anger. Its result corresponding to the cause is constant fear and much harm. The fruit of power is the fear caused by wicked kings, thieves, snakes, and wild animals. Wrong view is thinking that cause and effect are not true, and holding onto views of permanence and annihilation as supreme. Its result corresponding to the cause is dwelling in bad views and having one's mind disturbed by deceit. The fruit of power is being poor and being born without refuge or friends. Thus, these three of mind are included in forms that are non-indicative and obstructive, and are perfected by two branches each. The result corresponding to the cause of committing all ten non-virtuous actions in this way is to again obtain a body similar to that and engage in the previous bad deeds. That karma increases without end, and one experiences great suffering. Therefore, having understood the cause of committing the ten non-virtuous actions and how the various sufferings are experienced as their result, one should strengthen the resolve to abandon the ten non-virtuous actions and generate longing for the results of the ten virtuous actions, and then gladly accept them. For example, abandoning killing leads to long life and few illnesses; abandoning taking what is not given leads to wealth; abandoning sexual misconduct leads to a beautiful household and few enemies; abandoning lying leads to being praised and loved by all; abandoning divisive speech leads to attendants being respectful; abandoning harsh speech leads to hearing pleasant sounds; abandoning idle talk leads to strong words; abandoning covetousness leads to fulfilling one's intentions; abandoning harmful intent leads to being free from harm; abandoning wrong view leads to good views arising in one's mind. Therefore, my merit...

One should generate the mental strength to accomplish the cause of white dharma through diligence. Fifth, contemplate the benefits of liberation: Whichever of the three fruits of Shravaka, Pratyekabuddha, and Perfectly Complete Buddha one attains, it is peaceful and cool, and one is liberated from the dangerous straits of the suffering of samsara, so I am very happy. Among these, now that I have encountered the Great Vehicle, I should cultivate the ten virtues, the four immeasurables, the six perfections, the four concentrations, the four formless absorptions, the union of shamatha and vipashyana, and so on, desiring only complete enlightenment, and generate the intention to practice. The main practice is without object of focus, and afterwards, it is practiced by being enriched with dedication and aspiration, and being grasped by the three excellences. Sixth, rely on a virtuous friend: Without relying on a lama, the story of attaining Buddhahood is not mentioned in all the sutras, tantras, and treatises. Even in this life, there is not a single person who has developed the qualities of the stages and paths through self-creation and age. Like this, All sentient beings, including oneself, are attached to evil deeds, and for the path of liberation and omniscience, they are like the blind, and without a virtuous friend, it is like wandering in a wilderness. For example, there is no example of taking jewels from a treasure island without relying on a captain. Therefore, virtuous friends and virtuous companions are revered with respect because they are the manifest guides to liberation and the ground of omniscience. Worship with the crown of the head, accomplish whatever is said, and cultivate joy in the benefits of relying on them without a moment of displeasure, which are inconceivable. Without being swayed by evil friends and the delusion of others, one should not be weary of the way to rely on a lama, and one should strive to make aspirations to meet the noble lama in other lifetimes and be embraced by compassion. This was said by Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje. The method of applying the common preliminary practice instructions of the Great Perfection Longchen Nyingtik.
