Therefore, what the eye consciousness sees is form. Although it sees, it sees itself. The cause for the appearance of the form of an object is auspiciousness. Other than that, there is nothing that can destroy the form of its own accord. Thus, the Mind-Only school asserts that external objects do not exist, and without an object of apprehension, there is no apprehending consciousness. This self-luminous state of being without the duality of grasper and grasped. If one clings to this as true, it becomes the Alaya consciousness, and one establishes the results of actions here. Without distinguishing the differences in meditative experiences, one wastes one's youth in solitude. In both the Great and Small Vehicles, there is the unmentioned source of all things. In the supreme path of the Vajrayana, those who lack the eye of Dharma for direct realization cannot infer the nature of reality from this. Seeing such situations, some people equate the view of the Great Perfection, Primordial Purity, with Mind-Only; or they boast of having refuted them merely by the absence of a separate entity of grasper and grasped. By proving the true existence of external objects, names, and consciousness, and establishing emptiness with intellectual reasoning, even the finger of speculation eventually bends inward. Among the Madhyamaka schools of Consequentialists and Autonomists, all phenomena asserted by the Autonomists are without self, without truth, and without inherent existence or establishment. The Consequentialists, on the other hand, believe that the object of attachment of linguistic concepts and the inexpressible co-emergent wisdom are extremely contradictory, so they do not accept the simultaneous expression of the two truths. If one says, "I have no commitments, therefore I am without fault," this indicates that all phenomena are empty of essence, the self-nature of external objects is unestablished, one's own nature is also unestablished, and all phenomena are unestablished. Therefore, one can be free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, coming and going, existence and non-existence, and the limitations of obstruction and non-obstruction. This is the true intention of Nagarjuna. Its reality is inconceivable, while other schools argue over words of refutation and establishment, holding onto the tenets of preventing extremes and conforming to conventionality, which is the nature of arising and ceasing. By practicing the path of skillful means, one cannot understand the destruction of mind and mental factors. Here, it is the nature of destruction. With the wisdom that cuts off the extreme of existence, all signs and conceptual thoughts are destroyed in their own nature. Therefore, understanding the meaning of destruction and non-arising is the actual primordial reality. In the conceptual thoughts of the extremes of existence and non-existence, if something is established, there is no primordial reality. If one says that meditation is like the sky and cultivates the clinging to emptiness, it is also not the primordial reality. The so-called higher seeing, individually self-aware wisdom
