The large flag that is hoisted stands firm like a Thangka painting. The two corners are joined, forming a wind-filled tube-like protrusion, and there are about eight different shapes. Even if the wind direction changes, the ship will not be carried away by the wind, and they are skilled in methods that do not require a pole to stay. Also, in the center, three or four long wooden poles of about eight fathoms are erected, and at the top, there is a seat for the navigator who can observe the direction of the wind and clouds to determine good and bad omens, and there is a rope ladder for going up and down. Because the large flag is very powerful, in order to prevent the ship from capsizing, salt and other items are placed in the ship's hold. To moor the ship, an iron anchor, that is, a large sinker, is placed at the front and back, and it is raised and lowered by a device like a screw drill. Also, there is a small boat called "Naho" that guides the large ship, which can accommodate seven or eight people, and is pulled forward by many people. If sailing in the vast ocean where there is no escape, and there are sea monsters, Kumira that looks like a sea monster and harms the ship, large fish that cover a day's journey, water scorpions, etc., which cause much harm, so meteoric iron is hung on the four sides of the ship. Look into the distance with a glass eye. The eastern boat that travels in small streams is called "Bosor," and it can use two or one large flag, there is no strict rule. Like this, through the experiences passed down through generations of wise men who investigate the ocean, and the stories of the navigators, these are all definite talks about things that have been seen with one's own eyes. In general, from Calicut (now Kozhikode) to Jambudvipa (ancient India) is a shortcut to the ocean, and it can be reached in three days. If it takes a while to sail west to the land of the Franks (Europe) by ship, then between the islands in the ocean near Jambudvipa, there is a large island country known as Singala (Sri Lanka). Various treasures are produced there, especially many pearls. When picking pearls, they wear glass helmets on their heads, tie iron ropes around their waists, and dive into the sea, paying thousands of rupees for each dive. It is said that there are also pearls that are synthesized with medicine immediately after hail falls. It is said that "Kara" means chasing meat, which makes sense. The people there are also wealthy and have strange appearances. I wonder if it is Chandradvipa where the teacher Chandragomin resided.

Cannot be distinguished. It is also not known whether there are mountains where lithium ore has melted naturally. In that place, there is a tree salt that tastes better than the others, and a fruit that is shaped like a shili shi, which is very precious. If people from Jambudvipa (Sanskrit, Jambudvīpa, meaning Jambudvipa) arrive there, they will be very happy and give a lot of wealth. In particular, there are many women. Those women will say, "Please be the master of our wealth and stay." It is said that there are also people who stay. That's all, this is what my student, named Gungsapa Jangchub Gyaltsen, who lived in Calcutta for three years until he reached the sea, told at the age of seventy-three. It was said after being verified and discussed by three investigations, and in accordance with other statements. Otherwise, the statement about India being very vast, either seen by the Buddha himself, or telling the story of traveling through supernatural powers, will not work. This is in accordance with all eight investigations, and by relying on similar examples, it is easy to understand the other party's situation. Please understand the required situation through speech. The third chapter of the collection of stories ends. The third chapter of the collection of stories. The mirror of eight investigations of the story of South India.
