It becomes a single moment. ( इति ) Therefore, it is also not appropriate to make cessation manifest, because by blocking cessation itself, the manifestation is blocked. Because what is to be blocked has passed away, there is no cause for cessation. If it has not ceased, it cannot be blocked. If the two are simultaneous, their essence cannot be different. If they are not simultaneous, they cannot be what is to be blocked and what blocks. All four truths are unestablished. Even the truths that surpass the Mother (Prajnaparamita) are without inherent existence. ( इति ) In the light of blessings: there is no suffering, no origin, no cessation, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment. ( इति ) In the Lankavatara Sutra, it says: Non-arising is the one truth; children speak of four truths. Having entered the heart of enlightenment, even one truth is not established, so how can there be four? ( इति ) Similarly, dependent origination is also such that the mutual encounter of dependent phenomena is not established. Because ignorance is cut off, the connection with action is blocked. Because consciousness meeting the womb is blocked, there is no name and form. There are no six sense bases because the power to generate consciousness is blocked. Contact, feeling, craving, and so on are also blocked in relation to the false generalities. Therefore, in the Prajnaparamita Sutra, it says: Phenomena that arise dependently are also completely pure by their very nature. ( इति ) Although this is so, as an antidote to ignorance about cause and effect, knowing that desirable and undesirable results arise from relying on virtuous and non-virtuous actions, one strives to adopt and abandon. One merely observes that dependent origination appears but is not established by its own nature. Therefore, even those Arhats on the path of the Hearers who dwell in cessation, ultimately generate the mind of enlightenment and enter the Great Vehicle from the small Accumulation Path, manifest the five paths that are in accordance with it, pass into Nirvana, and completely transform into the nature of the Tathagata. As it says in the Nirvana Sutra: Arhats also completely enter Nirvana and abide in cessation. After ten thousand eons, they will generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. ( इति ) Having generated the mind in this way, even when practicing the path, due to being accustomed to the previous bad mentality of seeking only peace, they obstruct the purification of the Buddha-fields and the completion of the accumulation of ripening sentient beings. Therefore, Bodhisattvas

Even if the initial practitioner and the initial generation of mind occur at the same time, the generation of mind of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas will be delayed by forty kalpas because of this. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "These two again and again, constantly possessing their own minds, offer discriminations for the sake of manifest joy in Nirvana." Because of repeatedly arising aversion to samsara, and the mind that desires to quickly, quickly be liberated from suffering, this differentiates the initial generation of mind of a Bodhisattva. From the "Treasury of Precious Qualities, Rain of Joy," the section on the connection of samsara with suffering, and the explanation of the benefits of liberation on the path of the intermediate being, which is the commentary on the fourth chapter.
