After entrusting him with the government, he forbade the translators to translate the scriptures, sent the panditas back to their respective homelands, and forced all the ordained monks to disrobe. Those who did not want to give up their monastic robes were forced to take up bows and arrows and become hunters. Those who did not obey were killed. Most of the scriptures were hidden in the rocks of Lhasa. In this way, the tyrannical rule that exterminated the Dharma and all its upholders lasted for four years. At that time, Nubchen (Nubchen Sangye Yeshe) had already attained the accomplishment of longevity and was residing there. While he was traveling to India and Nepal to learn the magic of killing Langdarma, Pal Lhamo urged Lhalung Pelgyi Dorje, the secret lord Vajrapani, who had manifested as a human being, gathering the power and ability of all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. Thus, he fully manifested his unparalleled courage and strength, which came from the perfection of his white aspirations, and began to take covert actions, sending the sinful king, the root of the dark forces, into the mouth of the death god Yama. Before that, it was called the Early Propagation Period. From then on, from Yumtan and Wosung to the third generation of the royal family, for seventy countable kalpas, Tibet did not even have naturally formed Buddha images. Not to mention preaching the Dharma, even when praying for the sick, they could only say things like "this one is red, that one is black." Nevertheless, because many secret householders who held mantras existed in a hidden way, the Vajrayana did not decline. Tsang Rabsel of Tsazha, Bodong Yogejung, and Mar Shakyamuni of that time were practicing and residing in Chuwo Ri Mountain. They saw people dressed as monks and asked them. After learning about the sinful king destroying the Dharma, they were very angry. So they loaded the Vinaya, Abhidharma, and other scriptures on mules and fled to upper Ngari. They set out from Garlok and went to the Hor region. Although they wanted to propagate the Dharma in areas where the language was not understood, they were not successful. Later, they traveled to Dokham via the northern route. Thanks to the efforts of disciples such as Gongpa Rabsel, the Dharma gradually spread, and it is said that they revived the corpse of the Dharma from the lower regions. The one who revived the Dharma from upper Ngari was the descendant of the Ngari royal family, Tsenpo.

After O-srong's younger brother, K'o-ro, renounced the world and became a monk, he was known as Lha Lama Yeshe-Wo. With the aspiration to spread the teachings, he sent Lochen Rinchen Zangpo and twenty-one other young men with much gold to Kashmir to invite panditas. As a result, apart from Rinchen Zangpo and Lekpai Sherab, the other nineteen passed away in Khri-tan in Kashmir. Rinchen Zangpo corrected the errors in many tantras and returned to Tibet. Not long after, panditas such as Smriti (Sanskrit Devanagari: स्मृति, Sanskrit Romanization: smṛti, Literal meaning: Remembrance), Lha-gcig Dīpaṃkāra, and the Kashmiri Mahāpaṇḍita Śākyaśrī, who was known as the third Buddha to come, in short, masters who were proficient in the three pitakas and countless tantras, came and translated many new terms of Dharma and propagated the previous ones. Until now, my Buddha's teachings have been spread, and many great upholders of the teachings have appeared in this region. These are referred to as the Later Dissemination. Regarding this, it is said: In this land of snow mountains, the kings and ministers who are emanations blessed by the three protectors, such as Avalokiteśvara, while bringing the scriptural and realization teachings of Śākya Simha, laid the foundation with great power and gold, so that even if it shakes, it remains firm. From the aspiration of the three patrons, like the turning of a chariot wheel, arose the translators and paṇḍitas who fulfilled extraordinary deeds. When they raised the merit of the snowy land to the sky, where would the darkness of the five degenerations hide? Those ungrateful stars, merging their light into the sun's rays, attain liberation by purifying the Dharma, which is quite different from the beauty of darkness. From the work called "The Jewel Garland of Questions and Answers, A Treasury of Teachings," a brief account of how the teachings of Sutra and Tantra spread in Tibet, this is the fourth chapter. The fourth chapter: A brief account of how the teachings of Sutra and Tantra spread in Tibet.
