When the three perfections (of the Three Excellences) are complete—being seized by (the Three Excellences), having no attachment in between, and finally dedicating extensively—then, until the essence of enlightenment is reached, it will not be exhausted in the intermediate state, and it will increase inconceivably, and there will be countless necessities such as maturing into the cause of enlightenment, and it is a relationship that is completely related to the path of liberation and omniscience. For example, it is illustrated by the fact that if a drop of water is dropped into the great ocean, its continuation will never end until the end of the eon. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati: 'As a drop of water falls into the great ocean, it will not end until the ocean is exhausted; likewise, the merit of the complete dedication of enlightenment will not end until enlightenment is attained.' Similarly, it also appears in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence. If one does not have such dedication, then one will be exhausted in the intermediate state. Many great virtuous deeds performed with faith become meaningless. Being drawn only by a virtuous mind, one may temporarily reach a happy realm, but that alone will be exhausted, or even if it is not completely exhausted, the power of merit will become weak, and the ability to produce fruit later will become small, and on the object that has become sacred, anger and other unpleasant sinful deeds will be added to the problem. The Madhyamakavatara says: 'Used, given, and exhausted, hereafter no enjoyment will arise from it.' The Bodhicaryavatara also says: 'The merit accumulated for a thousand eons, such as giving and offering to the Sugatas, all the virtuous deeds, this one anger, can destroy without remainder.' Therefore, the way of dedication should also be towards the direction of omniscience, not in the way of drifting downwards. The Sutra Requested by Licchavi says: 'The many should also be known as a small part, for the sake of dedicating to omniscience.' In this way, being seized by the Three Supremes is the virtuous deed of the liberation part, and if not seized, it is called the merit part, and the result will become inferior. Second, the explanation of the specific nature is divided into three: what is the difference of the merit to be dedicated, where is the difference of the object to be dedicated, and how is the difference of the path to be dedicated. The first is, the mind without the three poisons
