However, the news of throwing (the Buddha statue) into the water reached the ears of the ministers, and they hid it in a deserted place under the pretext of the statue's weight. They plastered the doors of the Lhasa, Samye, and Ramoche temples, and painted pictures of monks drinking alcohol to please the king. Like hail destroying crops, (Langdarma) destroyed the precious Buddhadharma. Even so, because the compassion of the Buddha is inexhaustible, the direct disciple of the glorious Orgyen Second Buddha, the great lord of yoga who abandoned obstacles of mountains and rocks, the wisdom illusory body of the secret lord Vajrapani, Lhalung Pelgyi Dorje pierced the sinful King Langdarma's arm and heart, which was as high as the banner of a sea monster, with an iron arrow. While shouting the vicious curse, "Grasp the arrow! Either in three years, or wipe (the corpse) in three years!" he departed for the great city of the Avici hell. At this time, it is recorded in the history of Go Lotsawa Chenpo: After the destruction of the Dharma, the lay people of Tibet also showed respect to the Three Jewels, so the Lhasa and Samye temples were not destroyed. The mantra practitioners living in houses and mountains also practiced their own practices according to the Dharma. Because they also respected the entire Dharma, all the sutras and treatises (from Trisong Detsen) up to the time of Dharma U Dumtsen (Ralpa Chan) were properly preserved. Therefore, most of the previously translated (Buddhist scriptures) can still be enjoyed today. Soon after, the sons Osung and Yumten grew up and placed the two Jowo (referring to the Shakyamuni Buddha statue) on the throne. They also provided services to the temples, but Langdarma did evil deeds, which led to the division of the Ngari region. The auspicious connection of the compassionate lineage ruling Tibet was thus changed. Later, the Panditas Sati and Phala Rengwa came to Tibet. Because the translator of the inviters, Leru Tze, passed away, the two Panditas wandered for a long time. Smriti worked as a shepherd in Tanak. Eventually, both went to Kham, and Smriti also composed a treatise called "The Door of Speech, Rainbow." Thereafter, the Later Dissemination of Buddhism began. When Dharma destroyed the Dharma, Smar Shakya, a practitioner of Pal Chuwori Monastery,

Furthermore, Yo Gejung and Tsang Rabsel, the three, seeing monks chasing wild animals, understood the situation of the doctrine being destroyed, and hid during the day. At night, they traveled secretly to Ngari. Unable to stay there either, they passed through the northern route and arrived at Sogulung in Amdo. Through the immeasurable power of aspiration, the great lama Gewa Rabsel, as the abbot and acharya of the ordained, revived the decaying doctrine from Amdo. Similarly, after they were exiled, they gradually restored the doctrine from the three individuals with the suffix 'Pa'. Thereafter, the panditas of the Vikramashila monastery in the noble land, such as the venerable Dipamkara, the crest jewel of the ocean, and the Kashmiri pandita Shakya Shri, who was known as the third Buddha to come, arrived in this land and extended the precious tree of the doctrine, primarily the Vinaya Pitaka, into many branches. Similarly, in the realm of Vajrayana, many holy beings who were learned and accomplished also came into the world, all of which arose from the inconceivable power of the Tathagata's activity. They truly entered the path of the doctrine, bringing great benefit to sentient beings directly and indirectly, and became the sole guides leading beings easily to liberation and omniscience. Therefore, the essence of the ocean of scriptures well-spoken by the Tathagata, the treasury of vidyadharas, or the Nyingma Gyubum, the expression of realization that pervades the corners of Jambudvipa. This is the third chapter, 'A Brief Account of How the Buddha's Doctrine Flourished in the Land of Snows.'
