The third, a brief exposition on how the Buddhist doctrine flourished in the snowy land. The third, a brief exposition on how the Buddhist doctrine flourished in the snowy land. Third, the situation of how the Buddhist doctrine flourished in the snowy land is: After writing the great treasure of purification, it is not reasonable to measure the place suitable as a country. It is harmed by the saying, "The lake in the snowy land is dry." Here, which of the two, the mountain rock and the happy land, is distinguished by the name of a country? A few people interfered, and the country and people, etc., originally existed, or King Ruwati fled to the snowy mountain with his army and developed, etc. No matter what the situation was at that time, the lineage of the Tibetan kings was: In India, there were Shakyamuni the Great Sage, Lichavi, and the mountain rock person, that is, the three Shakya clans. According to the view of the Manjushri Root Tantra, a branch separated from the Lichavi clan, passed through the Ganges River and arrived in the mountain rock of the snowy mountain. Soon, looking from the top of Lhari Gyangto Mountain, he saw that the Yarlung area was adorned with the splendor of the ten virtues and was beautiful, so he came to Tsangtang Simen from the top of Lhari Rolpo Mountain. Someone asked him, "Who are you?" He replied, "Tsenpo (king)." When asked where he came from, he pointed to the sky. The Bonpos said, "This is a god brought by ropes and ladders." So they recognized him as a descendant of the gods and lifted him up with their necks, hence the name Nyatri Tsenpo. Thus, from Tsenpo Wode, there were the seven heavenly kings, the two middle Ding kings, the six earthly Lek kings, the eight De kings, and until the three Tsen kings, the regime was governed in the Bonpo way. During the time of the fourth king, Lha Thothori Nyantsen, the truth of the Tathagata's prophecy, the transformation of a hundred thousand sutras, descended on the bridge of blessings for the sentient beings of the snowy land. The time had come to place the sutras in the Yumbulagang Palace, and the Hundred-Armed Sutra, the Golden Pagoda, etc., fell from the sky. The name was given as Nyenpo Sangwa (meaning secret), and after making offerings, the king's fortune and life greatly increased. It was considered the beginning of the holy Dharma, only the sutras appeared. At this time, the Indian doctors Bibi and Bilham came, and the doctrine of medicine also appeared. Some say that the Bonpos fell from the sky.

Although it is said to be a story, if it is told as if descending from the sky, then the supreme guide entering the womb in the form of a white elephant, and being born in the city of Light, and the Buddha with his retinue coming and going in the sky of Indra Bhuti's palace, etc., are miraculous displays. In the ultimate sense, it is Buddha, it is Dharma, it is Sangha, it is the nature of books and scriptures, that would also fall into the category of Bon religion, so the Buddha's activities and the way the teachings descend are inconceivable, and should also be remembered. Then, the fifth king, Namri Songtsen, whose prince had auspicious names such as Amitabha on the crown of his head, was skilled in crafts, arts, and sciences, and was broad-minded, so the ministers, based on his own merits, honored him with the name Songtsen Gampo, the Dharma king. In order to initiate the tradition of the sacred Dharma during his reign, he sent Tonmi Anu's son and his entourage to India to study writing and grammar from Lha Rigpai Senge (ལྷ་རིག་པའི་སེངྒེེེེེེེེྃ་) and the Brahmin Li Jin, and eventually completed his studies. By adding and subtracting from the fifty Indian letters, he created thirty Tibetan letters. Equal to the number of the eight great treatises on Indian grammar, he composed eight treatises on grammar that conformed to the Tibetan language. Translated the Sutra Collection of the Cloud of Jewels. Since writing is the lifeblood of the teachings, it became an unparalleled kindness. After that, the king also began to learn, translating the Samantabhadra Sutra, etc. He taught many Dharmas such as the six-syllable mantra, Yamantaka, and the Dharma protector Lhamo. He had people study in places for yogic practice, and as a result, many accomplished ones emerged. In order to suppress the enemies on the ground symbolized by the image of Tibet as a supine demoness, he built border-taming temples, further taming temples, and temples to suppress the border. With immeasurable displays of skillful means and miracles, he invited the two Jowo Shakyamuni statues and Avalokiteshvara. He built the Lhasa Trulnang Tsuklakhang (ལྷ་ལྡན་སྤྲུལ་པའི་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་), including statues and their supports. He perfected the sixteen pure human moral codes. He invited teachers from India, Nepal, and China. Tonmi acted as translator and also translated some sacred Dharmas.
