The Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra elaborately explains from the first to the tenth chapters. The latter three chapters show the unique characteristics of the ground, path, and result of the Great Perfection of Self-Nature, which is essential. Through the remaining debates and answers, one establishes one's own tenets, clearly distinguishing the differences between words and meanings. These, if applied to the position of the commentator, are the wisdom of exposition. For those who wish to speak on the essence of the scriptures, give a little instruction. To this end, the instruction is: one must speak of the meaning that includes the necessary summary, includes debates and answers, includes connections, and includes words and meanings. This is its meaning. To misunderstand is: although it is said that the tradition and fundamental path of the teachings have been established, one grasps at small, trivial instructions and is unwilling to measure the depth and breadth of the truth of the Dharma. To understand incompletely is: to grasp what is important and what one considers to be right, but to be lazy towards the small and difficult points, thus not fully grasping the whole body of the treatise, which is of no benefit to oneself or others. Therefore, just as a bee tastes the essence of a flower, being eager to be close to the various practices of listening to the Dharma that will arise below is indispensable. From beginningless time, the plague of birth, old age, sickness, and death has struck, the great nectar medicine. How shall I advise those who possess the sacred Dharma but abandon it? Having said this, to deny and abandon is to speak of the faults of not upholding the sacred Dharma. Like this, birth arises from the four ways, such as from the womb. Old age is the change of age. Sickness is the imbalance of the elements. Death is the abandonment of life. Like this, an extremely fierce plague has struck from beginningless time until now, making the world wretched. However, for its antidote, the nectar of the sacred Dharma, one does not obtain it by hearing, does not manifest it by thinking, and does not grasp it by meditating. This fault is like a person severely afflicted by disease who avoids the doctor and wanders aimlessly in the wilderness. The *Adhimukti-carya* says: "Whoever does not obtain, does not practice, and does not hold onto the nectar that eliminates birth, old age, sickness, and death, that is a very deep fault, obscured by the darkness of ignorance, for a long time by disease."

Like being afflicted (by illness) but not relying on a great doctor. In particular, like the single eye that goes to the path of liberation, seeing and knowing the place of the path and the non-path, like having in hand the lamp of the three trainings and the three definitive expressions that resemble the thick darkness of the nature of the three realms, but abandoning them, that is actually being defeated on the battlefield of ignorance. As Chandragomin says: "The one stainless eye of all beings, Is the common lamp of the three realms. Whoever abandons this teaching after finding it well, That is entirely cherished by those who are extremely ignorant." Like that. By distinguishing the meaning of the title of this treatise and the occasion for making the promise to compose it, they have made the individuals on the path of learning suitable vessels for listening to the Dharma. The meaning of the title and the promise to compose.
