After printing, constantly maintain this momentary state of ordinary awareness, and especially rely on the blessings to generate realization. Since blessings depend on devotion, eliminating obstacles on the path and enhancing progress, striving solely in the devotion of the Guru Yoga is the ultimate culmination of all profound meanings. As it is said in the Sutra Collection: "One should always rely on virtuous and wise teachers. Why is that? Because the qualities of the wise arise from that." And in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "By not being separated from the recollection of the virtuous friend, all purposes will be accomplished." And in the Shri Hevajra: "The co-emergent, not spoken by others, cannot be found anywhere. By relying on the Guru's timely methods, and by one's own merit, one knows." And in the Vajrasattva Magical Net: "When the Guru is offered with the five empowerments and enjoyments of all Buddhas, all mandalas are offered. What need is there to mention the nearby mandala?" And in the Root Tantra of Sound Transformation: "The Guru is equal to all Buddhas. From relying on him, qualities arise, like the wish-fulfilling tree and the wish-fulfilling jewel, like the cow that grants desires. One obtains immeasurable qualities. Focusing on that, one relies on the Guru, in order to reverse the battlefield of samsara." And so on, all sutras and tantras praise the Guru as the supreme path, the single path of all Buddhas. Therefore, Padmasambhava said: "The root of all blessings and accomplishments is to strike the key point of devotion to the supreme Guru." And "Pray to the Guru, the chief guide of the path of liberation, the gathering of all Sugatas, the main object of offering." And so on, it is said that the Guru is the root of all profound paths. The great accomplished Virupa said in the Vajra Verses of the Path and Fruit: "The profound path is the Guru," considering that only the Guru's path can guide the most supreme beings. And in the Red Yamari, free from elaboration, it is also said: "The Guru and Vajrasattva should not be regarded as different. The Guru is the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Likewise, the Guru is the Three Jewels. Those who desire accomplishment and supreme status should please the Guru from all places." The Lord of Yoga, Tilopa, advised Naropa: "The field, the possessions, and the mind, combine them into one and pray."

I am certain that the desired fruit will arise. Yogis, do not be indecisive. The single Dharma that dispels all obstacles is the Lama, O Yogis! The single Dharma that accomplishes all activities is the Lama, O Yogis! As exemplified by this instruction, all the Kagyu forefathers made this the core of their practice. Lha-chig Dipamkara said: All the qualities of the Mahayana, whether great or small, must arise from reliance on devotion and respect for the Lama. Jetsun Losang Drakpa said: "Then, all the goodness of this life and the next, the root of all well-arranged auspicious connections, is to diligently rely on the guide, the virtuous friend, to properly attend with thought and action, to see him as one's life, never to abandon him, and to please him with offerings that fulfill his commands." Having spoken thus, the new and old Kadam traditions also guide from the beginning of the Lamrim, from the method of relying on a spiritual friend. Furthermore, the great accomplished Dampa Sangye said: "The only refuge that does not deceive is the Lama. Dingriwa, bear him inseparable on your crown. If the Lama leads, you will reach any place you desire. Dingriwa, offer devotion as the price of your feet." And Yeshe Tsogyal Niguma said in the Illusory Path of Stages: "The stages of the five paths and ten bhumis are traversed by the power of devotion. If the appearance of the Lama is not separated, the view of the tantras is the supreme essence." Furthermore, in the Three Aspects of the Path, it is said: "At all times, day and night, in all activities, know all appearances as the Lama. That Lama is one's own mind. Appearance, mind, and Lama are inseparable. The great clear emptiness naturally arises." Thus, learned and accomplished masters have also praised it with one voice. Therefore, in a delightful and extremely secluded forest filled with medicinal plants, constantly meditate on the lotus feet of the lord of all lineages, inseparable on your crown, and in the naked moment of awareness and emptiness, strive without separation between meditation and post-meditation, like the continuous flow of a river, in the practice of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana dissolving into their own place like clouds clearing in the sky, for this is the ultimate path that pleases all the Buddhas and their sons. Therefore, fortunate ones who desire to attain the wisdom of Mahamudra in this very life, please hold this as the single essence of your heart!
