Thinking of being liberated from the fear of death, living happily under the protection of the Three Jewels, and ultimately ripening the seed of liberation in the continuum, may I have the fortune to quickly attain enlightenment. At the end of auspicious words, such as "Supreme Victory Banner," etc., and "Unequaled Teacher," etc., and "The Lord Who Guides the World," etc., by the power of generosity, "Perfectly Awakened Buddha," etc., and recite the longevity dharani as much as possible, and scatter flowers. By the root of virtue done in this way, and by the root of virtue accumulated in the three times, may the Buddha's teachings flourish and may great goodness and excellence arise in the world, may the lotus feet of the holy beings who uphold the teachings be firm and may their activities increase, may all sentient beings, led by myself and the patrons, increase in life, merit, wealth, and wisdom, and may animals also be liberated from the fear of samsara and the lower realms, and quickly attain precious enlightenment. With a single-pointed wish: "By this virtue, may all beings," etc., and "By this merit," etc., wherever they are born, in all lifetimes, may they never be separated from the Three Jewels, may they always make offerings to the Three Jewels, and may the blessings of the Three Jewels enter. "The mind of enlightenment," etc., "The source of benefit and happiness," etc., "May the world be happy," etc., furthermore, "In this very life," etc., "By the power of this great merit, may the patrons and their retinues, etc., accomplish their wishes in this life, may obstacles be pacified and may they be auspicious, may all wishes be fulfilled in accordance with the Dharma." Like this, recite as much as possible the dedication prayer and aspiration prayer, and at the end of any auspicious verses such as "The greatest of the great," etc. May you enjoy the glory of immortal life, may the intelligence of wisdom and discriminating wisdom, and whatever wealth there is of worldly existence and peace, may all of that be naturally accomplished, may there be auspiciousness. May merit and prosperity increase like Mount Meru, may great fame spread like the sky, may there be long life, freedom from illness, and spontaneous accomplishment of the benefit of others, may the ocean of qualities be the supreme auspiciousness. Giving some of the outstanding animals with white markings, such as cattle and sheep, good names such as "Auspicious" is also said to be an auspicious connection, and should be done in that way. Furthermore, when establishing mountain and water prohibitions in order to save the lives of birds, wild animals, fish, etc., one should complete the generation of bodhicitta and dedication prayers as described, and combine them with deity offerings, etc. In general, the benefits of ransoming lives are immeasurable. In particular, rain will fall in that area, crops and livestock will be abundant, and many auspicious signs will appear. The noble Nagarjuna said in the Precious Garland: "At the doors of ant nests, always offer food, water, oil, and piles of grain. Please, steadfast people, do this." As it is said, giving food to creatures such as ants, giving clean food to fish, giving medicine to the sick, holding feasts for children, and giving food and drink to birds and the poor, etc., if taken with the mind of enlightenment and pure dedication prayers, can ransom lives, increase wealth, and ultimately become the cause of attaining great enlightenment. These are easy to do, require little effort, and have great benefits, so wise people should strive to accumulate merit through various means.
