On the ground, make a square platform no smaller than one cubit high. Then, it is best to draw the mandala of the Immaculate Crown (Uṣṇīṣacakravartin) with colored powders, but to avoid problems such as fading, for convenience, it can be carved on a stone slab and painted with bright colors, then coated with beeswax. Place a blue canopy above the mandala's decorations. Finally, starting from the northeast, arrange the two preliminary offerings of water and flowers as common offerings. Around it, arrange five special offerings, six in each direction, with one extra in the east. In any case, even if conditions do not allow, the one extra offering in the east is indispensable. These offerings must also be permanently placed. If containers of metal or similar materials can be found, that is best; if not, use pottery. Fill the water offering containers with good salt. Then fill them with the seven substances. The seven substances are: Campaka flower, white flowers like Balu flowers, as many as can be found 1; white sesame seeds 2; white barley 3; rice 4; kusha grass 5; good incense 6; milk, but because it is prone to spoilage, pour in clarified butter 7. For the foot-washing water, on top of the salt, fill it with the powder of five barks and various adhesives.
