Since it is completely so, cultivate respect for sentient beings. It is said that only by not mixing the defilements of body, speech, and mind can one benefit sentient beings. Auspicious! The Mind Training Based on Food. Furthermore, if one practices the instructions of the virtuous teacher Tonpa, in order for the patrons to complete the accumulation of merit, or in order to help others digest the food of faith, one should engage in mind training based on food. May I attain Buddhahood for the sake of all sentient beings. Especially, since one's own body contains eighty-four thousand types of insects, think that now I gather them with material things, and in the future I will gather them with Dharma. When swallowing food, meditate that all the sins of sentient beings at the time of cause and the suffering at the time of result ripen completely on this body of mine, as if scraping leather with a knife. When exhaling, meditate that my own happiness and virtue ripen on sentient beings. Meditate on these two alternately. Also, take all the roots of virtue of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and meditate that they ripen on sentient beings. In this way, may sentient beings be free from the sins of the time of cause and the suffering of the time of result. Meditate on generating the supreme Bodhicitta, completing the two accumulations, and attaining Buddhahood. Again, free from the sins of the time of cause and the suffering of the time of result. Generate the supreme Bodhicitta. Completing the two accumulations, meditate on becoming the unmoving Bhagavan. Then, visualize that from the state of naturalness, the Bhagavan Akshobhya, the wisdom being, a complete form, descends onto the crown of your head. Generate faith and respect towards him from the mind. Offer praise from the mouth. Offer offerings. Make supplications. Then, visualize that he melts like butter through the Brahma's aperture, dissolves into emptiness, and when he reaches the heart, he dissolves into emptiness. In that state, relax, loosen, let go, and ease. After that, if the mind can abide, let it abide. After that, if you fall asleep, this is the instruction for taking it into sleep. After that, if you die, this is the instruction for the moment of death. It is said that one will attain the supreme accomplishment of Mahamudra in the Bardo. After that, if you recite mantras, the blessing is very great. It will become the recitation of body, speech, and mind. Visualize the Yidam deity.

Ma pa is the recitation of the body. Reciting the heart mantra is the recitation of speech. Meditating on emptiness is the recitation of mind, it is said. If you want to arise, like a rainbow appearing in the sky, generate the Bhagavan Akshobhya from the state of emptiness. Visualize the previously absorbed Samayasattva, full of colors, residing above the crown of your head. Generate faith and reverence through the gate of the mind. Offer praise through the gate of speech. Make offerings and prayers. Then, if there is a painting, dissolve into it. If not, dissolve into a statue or stupa. If even that is not present, request them to return to their natural abode. "To the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the supreme ones..." Recite the refuge, bodhicitta, and dedication three times. Meditate on the current appearance as dreamlike and illusory. The chapter on relying on food, this is the first. Second, the mind training relying on breath: To attain Buddhahood for the sake of sentient beings. For that purpose, thinking to practice the mind training relying on breath, when the breath enters, meditate that the suffering of all sentient beings ripens on oneself. When the breath goes out, meditate that one's own happiness and virtue ripen on sentient beings. Meditate on these two alternately. Meditate that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas take on the roots of virtue and ripen them on sentient beings. In this way, one is also separated from sin and suffering, generates the supreme bodhicitta, and performs the deity's visualization and recitation as before. The chapter on relying on breath, this is the second. Third, transforming the body into as many as the sands of the Ganges and taking on the suffering of the six realms: To attain Buddhahood for the benefit of sentient beings. For that purpose, thinking to transform the body into as many as the sands of the Ganges and take on the suffering of the six realms, in the place of sentient beings in hell, visualize one's own body transforming into as many as the sands of the Ganges, and meditate that all the sins and sufferings of the sentient beings in hell ripen intensely on those bodies of oneself. Meditate that all one's own happiness and virtue ripen on the hell beings. In this way, the sentient beings in hell are separated from sin and suffering, generate bodhicitta on the supreme path to enlightenment, and complete the two accumulations.
