In the section division of the Great Compassion Profound Instruction according to the Tailoring Method, there are two aspects: the history that generates faith and establishes authenticity, and the actual instructions that possess that history. The first aspect has two parts: the history of the Dharma to be explained and the history of the lineage of gurus. The second aspect, the actual instructions, has three parts: identifying the basis to be guided, which is the wisdom of the luminous nature of mind; showing the path by which to guide, which includes the stages of generation and completion with their branches; and the stages of practicing that path and the ultimate result.
