Faults, and even if trusting, if not held by mindfulness and clear knowing, it is a fault like a container with a hole in the bottom; even if held by mindfulness and clear knowing, but as stated in the "Explanation of Reasoning": "Pride and disbelief, not seeking meaning, external distractions, uncollected mind, and discouragement are the stains of listening." Any of the six stains mentioned are faults of a stained container. Abandon the three faults of the container, and as a remedy for them, have the perception of oneself as a patient, the Dharma speaker as a doctor, the Dharma as medicine, and diligent practice as healing the illness, and listen with mindfulness placed on these four perceptions. Especially, in this context of the unsurpassed Vajrayana, it is not permissible to listen to the Dharma with ordinary appearances and attachments. Therefore, the posture of the body should be upright, and the thought in the mind should be that this dwelling is not an ordinary dwelling, but in the center of the great liberation palace, which is formed from the self-appearance of wisdom, inseparable from purity and clarity, and fully endowed with all measures and characteristics. The Vajra Master who is now teaching the Dharma is not an ordinary figure, but the embodiment of the great compassion and wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, and think of him as the actual noble Avalokiteśvara. You yourselves should also, with the pride of whichever deity you practice during meditation breaks, think that the sound of the Dharma is empty, unborn, and proclaimed, and that the sound that dispels all the decline of samsara and nirvana exists distinctly, and in this way, listen in a state of clarity and emptiness without grasping, in an undistracted manner. Please do so. So, the Dharma to be listened to here is the profound sequence of the Great Seal of Mind at Rest path, transmitted from the great accomplished Mitra Joki. So, how to explain it? What makes it trustworthy and authoritative is history and, history and the actual essential instructions that have historical significance. The first is divided into the history of the Dharma to be explained and, the history of the lineage of gurus. The first is: Our teacher, skillful in means and possessing immeasurable compassion, is in accordance with the disposition of sentient beings to be tamed, their abilities, thoughts, and the sequence of their habitual tendencies.

In short, if all the immeasurable nectar of Dharma that has been spoken is summarized, from the point of view of what is to be expressed, it can be summarized into the three trainings, and from the point of view of what expresses, it can be summarized into the three pitakas. If it is further summarized, it can be summarized into the Hinayana and the Mahayana. Here, what is being discussed is the Mahayana, which is superior to the Hinayana by seven characteristics. Such a Mahayana is further divided into the Paramitayana as the cause and the Mantrayana as the result. Here, what is being discussed is the Resultant Mantrayana. It is also divided into four great tantra classes. The ultimate of all tantras is the Great Yoga Anuttaratantra King, the Great Bhagavan Glorious Great Bliss One Hair, which has two paths: the ripening empowerment and the liberating generation and completion stages. Here, what is being discussed is the extremely profound completion stage Mahamudra Mind at Rest. Second is the history of the lineage of gurus. This particularly excellent tradition, in general, was directly taken care of by the noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of the heavenly lineage named Lodro Rinchen, who took care of the great siddha Tilopa, who took care of the great siddha Rolpai Dorje, who took care of Je Mitra Dzoki. This well-known emanation of the noble Avalokiteshvara, the great siddha Mitra Dzoki, showed the manner of taking birth as the son of a great king in eastern India. From the moment of his birth, he was moved by faith, renunciation, and great compassion, and abandoned the kingdom like spitting out ashes. In the city of Bhagada Bhitara, he listened to three special instructions from the great siddha Rolpai Dorje. On Mount Khasarpaṇa, he single-mindedly devoted himself to the essential practice, and after twelve years, on the vajra stake in front of him, on a stone as smooth as a mirror, the noble Avalokiteshvara personally appeared and said, 'Child, what do you want?' He requested, 'Please show me a method to rest my mind, which has been exhausted in the ocean of suffering of samsara since beginningless time.'
