The greatness in terms of qualities is the exhaustion of outflows, the absence of afflictions, the possession of power, the mind being utterly liberated, the wisdom being utterly liberated, etc., as stated in other sutras. Similarly, the greatness of the Bodhisattva Sangha in terms of number is a hundred kotis. The greatness in terms of qualities is the mastery over the Dharma of knowledge and liberation, and not being confused about the meaning of skillful means and wisdom, all of them having attained the bhumis. "Abiding in one method" indicates the perfection of time, because all such wonderful Dharmas are completely fulfilled at this time. Then, "Bhagavan, profound appearance," etc., shows the perfection of the Dharma. As it says in the Eight Thousand Stanza Prajnaparamita Sutra: "Bhagavan, the Perfection of Wisdom is profound; it should not be meditated upon by anyone." As it is taught, it is the connection between sound and meaning that makes manifest the profound meaning that is very difficult to understand and inconceivable. To enter into samadhi is the time when profound emptiness appears as the form of an object, and one abides perfectly within the great union samadhi, when the three times of conduct etc. are not mixed. Then, who will explain this? Again, it is stated by "at that time," etc. Because of abandoning all defilements for one's own benefit, it is enlightenment. For the benefit of others, all the qualities of realization are attained.

Explaining the Daśadharmasūtra, and to dispel Ajātaśatru's remorse, Mañjuśrī bestowed blessings with speech, thus that sūtra arose. Here too, because of being blessed by the wisdom of the mind in meditative equipoise, the courage to explain arises. As stated in the Abhisamayālaṃkāra: 'However many Śrāvakas of the Victorious Ones teach the Dharma, explain and have wisdom, and speak truthfully, make the supreme noble one happy and obtain its fruit, all of those are the power of the sons of the Thus-Gone Ones.' As stated, this is recognizing the blessed command. Secondly, the meaning of the text has four parts: actually showing the profound path, showing that it must be grasped by skillful means of mantra, advising to train in how to meditate in that way, and praising it afterwards. The first part also has the way of asking, the way of showing it, and the way of praising it. The first part is: from 'The venerable Śāriputra' etc., to 'said thus', it is easy to understand. The second part is: from 'Bodhisattva' etc., to 'there is nothing not obtained'. That is, in this way, because there is no way to identify the essence in form, one experiences emptiness, therefore form is empty. The experience is that emptiness also appears in the form of form, so emptiness is also form. Therefore, form is also empty, and emptiness is not different from form, therefore the path of the union of appearance and emptiness appears as having four characteristics, namely, it is sequentially established as yoga of no appearance, with appearance, and non-duality of appearance and emptiness. Therefore, all phenomena are also emptiness, which is the essence of the Mother Prajñāpāramitā, free from the three of arising, ceasing, and abiding, and is inexpressible and inconceivable. However, by meditating on emptiness with characteristics, as it is said: 'If one views emptiness wrongly, those of small wisdom will be destroyed.' And, in the Abhisamayālaṃkāra it says: 'If a Bodhisattva thinks this aggregate is empty, he engages in characteristics and does not trust in the unborn place.' Therefore, since it transcends all objects of designation such as emptiness and non-emptiness, it is without characteristics. That itself does not depend on causes and conditions, so it is unborn. From the nature of the unborn, all kinds of self-display can appear at will, so the self-radiance does not cease.
