The power of knowing maturity, and also having previously examined the faculties of those to be tamed and taught the Dharma in accordance with them, thereby realizing without obstruction all the distinctions of sharp, middling, and dull faculties such as faith of sentient beings, is the power of knowing superior faculties and non-superior faculties. Also, having previously dwelt in accordance with the inclinations of those to be tamed, thereby realizing without obstruction the distinctions of the three vehicles in which sentient beings temporarily abide, such as saying, "These sentient beings abide in different lineages of the three vehicles," is the power of knowing various inclinations. Similarly, having previously taught the Dharma in accordance with the aspirations of those to be tamed, thereby realizing without obstruction all the distinctions of different thoughts of aspirations, such as saying, "These sentient beings have faith in this vehicle among the three vehicles," is the power of knowing various aspirations. Also, having previously become accustomed to all vehicles, thereby realizing without obstruction all the distinctions of the paths that lead to all of samsara and nirvana, such as the three realms and the three bodhis, is the power of knowing all paths. Also, having previously diligently practiced limitless samadhis, thereby realizing without obstruction all the distinctions of defiled and undefiled purity of dhyanas, formless states, liberations, samadhis, and attainments that arise in the minds of other individuals, is the power of knowing defiled and undefiled dhyanas and so forth. Also, having previously not abandoned roots of virtue and acted with mindfulness, thereby realizing without obstruction with reasons all the actions of oneself and others in previous lives, is the power of knowing recollection of past lives. Also, having previously not frightened other sentient beings and having appeared to them, taught the Dharma as it is, thereby realizing without obstruction all the distinctions of how sentient beings transmigrate from where they die and where they are born, and the good and bad of the intermediate existence, is the power of the supernormal knowledge of the divine eye. Also, having previously taught the Dharma in order to exhaust defilements
