The Dharmakāya of Śākyamuni Buddha, formed from the nature of earth, is inherently the nature of complete pacification of all characteristics of conditioned phenomena from the very beginning, therefore it is permanent. Because it is not deceptive, it is also permanent, because it is constantly and continuously the ultimate refuge, protector, and companion for limitless sentient beings who are without refuge, therefore it is permanent. This is its meaning. The general meaning of these is summarized as follows: With the initial seven reasons such as "cause is limitless," it is explained that the benefit of others by the Form body is constant and continuous; with the latter three reasons such as "conquering the Lord of Death," it is explained that the Dharmakāya of the Buddha is immutable and permanent. This is its meaning. Regarding the meaning of the truly inconceivable, there are two aspects: briefly showing the reason for inconceivability and extensively explaining the reasons. Among these, the brief explanation is: The great Bodhi of stainless Suchness, completely transformed in all places and thoroughly separated, transcends the expression of words, because it is not the domain of language; it is encompassed by the two purities of the ultimate truth that is individually knowable by oneself; because it is not a place or object to be examined by conceptual thought; because it has completely transcended all examples and signs of measurement; because it has transcended the world and reached the ultimate peak, it is unsurpassed; because it is not encompassed by the two extremes of samsara and nirvana, therefore only the omniscient wisdom of the perfectly enlightened Buddha is the domain, and even the noble ones who abide on the great earth cannot truly conceive it, let alone ordinary people, not to mention the inconceivable. This is its meaning. The extensive explanation is divided into three parts, among which the reasons are explained in order: The Bodhi that perfectly completes the three bodies cannot be truly conceived by others than the Buddha, saying "this is it," because it is not the object of language and cannot be expressed in words. Thus, language cannot express

Because that itself is non-existent. Because the ultimate truth needs to be realized individually by oneself. That itself is the ultimate truth. Because it is not an object or place that can be examined by conceptual thought. That itself is not to be examined by conceptual thought. Because it is not to be inferred by worldly examples and reasoning, etc. That itself is not to be inferred. Because it is beyond the world and unsurpassed. That itself is unsurpassed. Because it is not encompassed by cyclic existence, peace, and nirvana. Moreover, it is not encompassed by existence and peace. Because it does not abide in their two extremes. Moreover, it is non-abiding. Because there is no grasping of qualities in the extreme of peace, and no perception of faults in the nature of existence. Combining and summarizing the two bodies, because of the five reasons such as "not being a verbal object," it is extremely subtle, profound, and difficult to fathom, therefore it shows the reason why the Dharmakaya is not conceivable by ordinary people. Because of the sixth reason, "not encompassed by existence and peace," although the arising and ceasing of existence and peace appear, because they are not their true existence, it shows the reason why the infinite manifestations of the Rupakaya are not conceivable. Thus it is said. From the aspect of qualities, the way of being inconceivable is: Because of directly realizing all knowable things as they are, and knowing all that is knowable, therefore possessing the unsurpassed wisdom light, and because of wanting to liberate all sentient beings from the suffering of samsara, therefore possessing immeasurable loving-kindness, great compassion, and activities, etc., immeasurable qualities, thereby perfecting qualities and reaching the other shore. Therefore, this great enlightenment attained by the Buddhas is not conceivable as it is even by those other than the Buddhas. Therefore, the Buddhas who arise completely independently of others, but from their own practice, are also the last of the eight establishments, the way of being inconceivable. Or, in relation to the initial generation of the mind, etc., this way of manifesting perfect enlightenment is.

The great Bodhisattvas who abide on the pure grounds, even those who have attained the ten powers cannot directly know them, what need is there to mention ordinary people? Those who desire to know should attain Buddhahood. This is it. From the 'Treatise on the Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sutras,' on the differentiation of the Tathāgatagarbha families, the chapter on Bodhi, the explanation of the second chapter is complete.
