The sixteenth bhumi is the bhumi of Yeshe Lama. As it is said in "Longsal": "A person who sees the truth, from the first bhumi to the sixteenth, arises through gradual practice. This is how the qualities and fruits of temporary states are obtained in accordance with others." As it is said, those yogis who have seen the truth and are endowed with great diligence, from the first direct seeing of the truth of reality, from the first bhumi, the Joyful One, to the sixteenth bhumi, the bhumi of Yeshe Lama, gradually proceed. The way to attain Buddhahood is to attain Buddhahood in common, that is, to manifest Buddhahood together with the remaining aggregates. The way signs appear is: when the measure of wind is reached, sound appears in the past; similarly, when the measure of light is reached, light appears; when the measure of space is reached, the earth shakes; when the measure of bindu is reached, the sacred body and relics appear; when the measure of the field is reached, rainbows appear; when the measure of the body is reached, the bodies appear in sequence. This way of liberation is also called manifest complete perfect Buddhahood. In the Tantra of the Mirror of the Heart, it says: There are two kinds of nirvana, namely, complete perfect Buddhahood and manifest complete perfect Buddhahood. It also says: Manifest complete perfect Buddhahood produces light, sound, body, relics, earthquakes, and so on.

It is vast in its own benefit, hence it is also called Buddha. As stated in "The Garland of Pearls": Liberation itself is the beginning. As stated in the Tantra: The essence is emptiness, clarity, wisdom body, the nature is great compassion, without partiality, in the indivisible great realm, originally enlightened. As stated in "Root Tantra of Transformation": The Dharmakaya is the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities. The body is emptiness and clarity, and the nature of being without characteristics. Speech is free from sound, words, and names, free from expression and the basis of discussion. Mind is without thought or movement, transcending all scattered and discriminating thoughts. Qualities are without regression or return, the expanse and wisdom pervade, the nature is without fabrication. Activities are without arising or birth, without creation or cessation, without non-action or action. In the Sambhogakaya, there are body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities. The body is appearance without inherent existence, clarity and the means of clarity pervade wisdom. Speech is self-arisen and self-manifesting, the wheel of manifestation that expands and contracts. Mind is the uninterrupted gaze, and the power and intention of wisdom. Qualities are the perfection of marks and signs, the perfection of clear intention and direct knowledge. Activities, from the wheel of Dharma, extensively explain the inner and outer secrets, and to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of each lineage, they also separately expound from their self-arisen tongues, revealing to the retinue their own essence. In the Nirmanakaya, there are body, speech, and mind, five aspects of qualities and activities. The body is in the marks and signs, manifesting bodies to tame beings according to their needs. Speech is in the excellent arrangement of words, possessing the sixty-four branches of Brahma's voice. Mind is in the two wisdoms of knowable objects, abiding in the perfection of both self and other's benefit. Qualities are the perfection of wisdom, activities are the perfection of all inner and outer secret deeds, abiding in the five perfections. Thus it is said. Therefore, the Dharmakaya is free from elaboration, the Sambhogakaya is clear with marks and signs, the Nirmanakaya appears in various forms, the immutable Vajra body is the nature of those, the Svabhavikakaya is the essence, possessing two purities, that is, the purity of nature, being without defilement from the beginning, and the purity of recognizing sudden defilements. The body of manifest enlightenment is the great compassion without attachment, and the activities continue until samsara is empty, it is complete.
