Through the key of the self-liberation of dharmata, no matter what disturbing thoughts arise, they cannot maintain their own nature, just like a knot in a horse's tail that unties itself. Since it is spontaneously liberated, there is no need to subdue it again with antidotes after enlightenment. It is not like the Mind Series, which needs to be expanded, nor like the Space Series, which needs to be established in the dharmadhatu. Instead, it abides in the natural state of the Instruction Series, beyond intention and thought, in the realm of experience. Once accustomed to this, one can, in a state where there is no need for cultivation, in the wisdom essence where all virtues are spontaneously accomplished, be completely perfected in a unified whole. Therefore, there is no need to specifically study and strive through the ten bhumis of the bodhisattva and the generation and completion stages of outer and inner mantras. As the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra says: "Without transformation, without cultivation, awareness is spontaneously perfect." Thus, when practicing the path in this way, in general, one must first identify the obstacles to meditation and rely on antidotes to eliminate them. On this, the noble Asanga said: "Laziness and instructions, forgetfulness, sinking and agitation, non-application and application, these are the five faults." Thus, he explained the obstacles. And "Eight types of application of antidotes: abiding and abiding in that, cause and effect as well. Not forgetting focus, sinking and agitation, and thoughts, eliminating their manifestation, and abiding naturally in quiescence." Thus, he explained the antidotes. That is to say, when in meditative equipoise, if you find that more conceptual thoughts arise than before, or if you sometimes abide and sometimes do not abide, or even if you abide, there is a subtle mental activity that cannot be controlled deep down, these three situations are signs of attempting to abide. If you block the scattering of thoughts and cannot control them, because you endlessly spread them and entrust them to "Ar," you will become weak. Or, through undistracted mindfulness and awareness, the scattering of thoughts completely ceases, thereby gaining the self-nature of abiding, then abide in that state. As it is said in the scriptures: "Like a crow flying from a pond, circling and circling, it returns to the same place." Also, if you are dull, exhale stale air, straighten your posture, raise your gaze, lift your awareness, and awaken your spirit to become clear. If you are agitated, relax your posture, lower your gaze, relax your mind, and abide in your natural state to subdue it. In short, you should separately practice shamatha and vipashyana.

Wood. Sometimes, when the sky is clear and cloudless, by turning one's back to the sun and constricting one's gaze to look at the expanse of the sky, like opening the door of the empty radiance of the outer sky, into the perfectly pure sky of inner knowing, the nature of reality, the secret, luminous essence of the sky, dawns in an instant, transcending all boundaries and centers. When one becomes somewhat accustomed to and stable in practice, mix it with all activities and various circumstances. Through this, everything appears as a play of the nature of reality. Transcending the calculations of separation between meditation and post-meditation, hope and fear, one is liberated into the realization of the exhaustion of phenomena, primordial purity. At that time, without abandoning conceptual thoughts, one is liberated from the ground up, so there is no effort to liberate again. Whatever arises is self-liberated in its own place, so there is no antidote of mindfulness. The six objects are self-liberated in naked seeing, so awareness is free from the grasping of before and after. In the total liberation of good and bad, awareness gains confidence in exhausting partiality and acceptance and rejection. As it says in the *Strike to the Heart*: Self-knowing, free from all thoughts, Possesses the four great modes of liberation. Liberated from the beginning, there is no basis for repetition. Naturally liberated, there is no antidote. Nakedly liberated, it vanishes in the place of seeing. Completely liberated, there is no effort. Thus it is. Thus, the awareness or thought that is labeled as liberation does not go anywhere other than being labeled. It does not come from anywhere either. It transcends causes, conditions, and objects. Like the reflection in a clear, empty mirror, however it may appear, it does not benefit or harm the ground, and it is free from the grip of partiality and grasping effort. Whatever arises is aimless, rootless awareness, abiding as self-arising in its own place, so it is liberated as self-liberation. Abiding in indeterminacy, it is liberated as non-grasping. Abiding in primordial liberation, it is liberated as groundless. Abiding in the moment of impact, it is liberated as being struck. Abiding in the moment of arising, it is liberated in the emptiness of appearances, and in the great equality of the inseparability of arising and liberation, without needing to cultivate, the primordial state of original purity is realized and liberated. Furthermore, as it says in the *Strike to the Heart*: What is called self-mind being liberated, Does not go from one place to another. The mind that is not liberated by anything, Is complete from the ground, so there is no going or coming. Not found by searching, there is no interruption. Being rootless, it abides in emptiness and clarity. The very nature of self-luminous abiding mind, Being liberated by the key point, there is no partiality. Being liberated by time, there is no dependence. Being liberated without effort, there is no diligence.
