When the sky is clear and cloudless, turn your back to the sun, restrain your gaze and look up at the expanse of the sky. Like the outer sky opening the door of empty radiance, like the inner sky of awareness being completely pure. In the sky of the secret, luminous essence, the nature of reality, which transcends all boundaries and centers, dawns in an instant. When you become somewhat accustomed to and gain stability in practice, mix it with all activities and various circumstances. Through this, everything appears as a play of the nature of reality. Transcending the calculations of separation between meditation and post-meditation, hope and fear, one is liberated into the realization of the exhaustion of phenomena, primordial purity. At that time, without abandoning conceptual thoughts, they are liberated from the ground, so there is no need to make effort to liberate again. Whatever arises is self-liberated in its own place, so there is no antidote to mindfulness. The six objects are self-liberated in naked seeing, so awareness is free from the grasping of before and after. Knowing that good and bad are completely liberated, one gains confidence in the exhaustion of bias and acceptance and rejection. As it says in the *Thal Gyur*: "Self-awareness is free from all thoughts, Endowed with four great modes of liberation. Liberated from the beginning, there is no basis for repetition. Liberated naturally, there is no antidote. Liberated nakedly, it vanishes in the place of seeing. Liberated completely, there is no effort." Thus, the awareness or conceptual thought that is labeled as "liberation" does not go anywhere other than being merely labeled. It does not come from anywhere either. It transcends causes, conditions, and objects. Like the reflection in a clear, empty mirror, no matter how it appears, it does not benefit or harm the ground. It is free from partiality and the fixation of grasping. Whatever arises is unattached, rootless awareness, abiding as self-arising in its own place, so it is liberated as self-liberation. Abiding without certainty, it is liberated as non-grasping. Abiding as primordially liberated, it is liberated as groundless. Abiding as immediate, it is liberated as immediate impact. Abiding as the arising moment, it is liberated as appearance-emptiness, and in the great equality of appearance-liberation without distinction, without meditation, the original state of primordial purity will be revealed and liberated. Similarly, in the *Thal Gyur* it says: "What is called the liberation of one's own mind, Does not go from one place to another. The mind without anyone to liberate it, Is complete from the ground, so there is no coming or going. It cannot be found by analysis, and there is no interruption. Because it is free from the root, it abides in emptiness and clarity. The nature of mind that abides as self-luminous, Is liberated through the key point, so there is no partiality. Is liberated through time, so there is no dependence. Is liberated without effort, so there is no diligence."
