There are eight ways of acting: abiding and abiding therein, cause and effect themselves. Do not forget the object, dullness and agitation and thoughts, the manifestation of abandoning these, and abiding in peace as it is. As the antidote is said. Moreover, when in meditation, thoughts become more numerous than before, or sometimes abiding and sometimes not abiding, or even when abiding, there is a subtle attention deep down that cannot be stopped, all three are signs of striving to abide. Blocking the distraction of thoughts cannot be stopped, because it expands endlessly and is put into things, the power is weakened, or through unscattered mindfulness and awareness, the continuation of distraction is cut off, and the self-nature of abiding is attained, then abide in that state. Just like a crow flying from a pond, circling and circling, and then landing there again. As it is said. Also, when dull, eliminate the breath, straighten the body, raise the gaze, strengthen the consciousness, and exert wisdom, then it will clear. When agitated, relax the body, lower the gaze, relax the mind and wisdom, and abide in the natural state, then it will descend. When observing, practice calm and insight separately, sometimes in the clear sky without clouds, with your back to the sun, restrain your gaze and look at the vastness of the sky. For example, the outer sky opens the door of emptiness and clarity, for example, the inner sky of consciousness is completely pure, the sky of the secret luminous essence, the nature of reality that transcends all boundaries and centers appears in an instant. When you are a little accustomed to and gain stable practice, mix it with all actions and various circumstances. Therefore, everything appears as a play of reality. Transcending the calculations of hope and fear with or without distinction, liberated into the state of exhaustion of phenomena and original purity. At that time, thoughts are not abandoned but liberated from the root, so there is no effort to liberate again. Whatever appears is liberated in itself, so there is no antidote of mindfulness. The six objects appear naked and are self-liberated, so consciousness is free from prior and subsequent attachments. Good and bad are completely liberated, because you know, you gain the confidence to eliminate prejudice and acceptance and rejection. In the Ornament of Clear Realization it says: Self-knowing is free from all discriminations, endowed with four great modes of liberation. Because it is originally liberated, there is no basis for re-liberation. Because it is self-liberated, there is no antidote. Because it is nakedly liberated, it disappears in the place of seeing. Because it is completely liberated, there is no effort.

There is no effort. Thus it is said. Thus, the knowing or thought that is labeled as liberation does not go anywhere other than being merely labeled. It does not come from anywhere either. It transcends causes, conditions, and objects. Like a reflection in a clear mirror, no matter how it appears, it does not benefit or harm the ground. Because it is free from partiality and the effort of grasping, whatever appears is aimless, rootless awareness. Since it abides in its own place, self-arising, it is liberated as self-liberation. Because it abides without certainty, it is liberated without grasping. Because it abides as primordially liberated, it is liberated without a basis. Because it abides as spontaneously present, it is liberated as instantly struck. Because it abides as the moment of appearance, it is liberated as appearance and emptiness. From the liberation of appearance, the great equality without distinction, without meditation, the original state of primordial purity is manifestly liberated. That is, in the Prasangika it says: What is called the liberation of one's own mind, There is no going from one place to another. The mind that is not liberated by anything, Is complete from the ground, therefore there is no coming and going. It cannot be found by investigation, there is no interruption. Because it is free from base and root, it abides in emptiness and clarity. The nature of mind that abides as self-illuminating, Is liberated by the key point, therefore there is no partiality. It is liberated by time, therefore there is no dependence. It is liberated without effort, therefore there is no diligence. Thus it is said. Thus, the instructions for practicing the profound meaning of Trekchö of Kadak are completed. Introducing the Nature of Awareness.
