Rest in contemplation. Again, like an insect returning, rest with the aspiration to abide in your own place. Similarly, like a guest going in pursuit of a purpose, go to cities, countries, continents, and other continents, to all places whether familiar or unfamiliar, holding the aspiration to return. Alternately, sometimes crooked, sometimes straight, sometimes slow, sometimes fast, engage in going and returning. According to the pace of entering the path, and in accordance with the length, slowness, and intensity of uttering (ཧཱུྃ,吽,hūṃ,Hum), purify the habitual tendencies of the place by repeating again and again. Again, thinking that by saying (ཧཱུྃ,吽,hūṃ,Hum) (ཧཱུྃ,吽,hūṃ,Hum), you have gone like a great arrow to all the pure realms, arrange the interdependent origination for the realms to be mastered. When that is mastered, ordinary conceptual thoughts will naturally loosen, and a feeling of ease and comfort will arise. By this, the three doors enter the correct path, and the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought will increase. In this way, by training the speech, conceptual thoughts will spontaneously cease, and in general, the sins and obscurations of speech will be purified. By hearing only the sound of (ཧཱུྃ,吽,hūṃ,Hum), obstacles will be pacified. In particular, by reversing the attachment to speech, one will not fall into samsara. Ultimately, one will be liberated inseparably into the Sambhogakaya. Speech will be purified into Vajra speech, and one will attain Nirvana. Mind Training. Examining the Place and the One Who Arises. Third, the method of training the mind. From the Mulamadhyamakakarika: The mind's place of first arising, the place of dwelling in the middle, the place of final going. Thus, by examining and analyzing these three, training the mind knows the nature of the mind. Thus, among the three of examining the place of arising, dwelling, and going, first is examining the place and the one who arises. The so-called mind, which wanders in samsara and experiences suffering, and after becoming a Buddha experiences happiness, this knowing, vivid thing, from where did it first arise? Did it arise from later arising things, such as mountains, rocks, houses, containers, essences, or the causes and conditions of parents? If you think so, then break down each thing into atoms, search and investigate, but it cannot be found. Therefore, it is known that it did not arise from the external container and essence. If it is said to arise from the inner self? Then cut and separate the upper, middle, and lower parts of the body, the inner, outer, and intermediate parts, one by one, but it cannot be found, so it did not arise from the self either. Thus, it did not arise from the part that exists and appears as a thing, no matter how you search, you cannot find its target. Nor from the side of non-existence, emptiness.

It has not arisen from anywhere, so the place and source of arising are not established. Mind does not arise from mind, so the place of arising and the ariser are not established. What is the nature of the place of arising and the mind of the ariser? Examine outwardly. When examining inwardly the mind of the seeker, the place of arising and the ariser, all the apprehended and apprehender that appear as the object of search and the searcher, are not found to have any identifiable essence, so cause and condition are without object and without support. In a state free from all speech, thought, expression, and affirmation, there is a sudden breakthrough, which is a sign of mastery in the body. The nature of mind, which is free from identification, empty in essence, and the unborn Dharmakaya, is realized and established. Examining the Abode and the Abider Secondly, examining the abode and the abider. As before, where does this mind currently reside—externally, internally, in the vessel and its contents, in the parts of the body, etc.? Cut off the root. If the thought arises, "It resides here," then divide it into parts and particles and examine it. For example, if you think it resides in something like the heart, then which part does it reside in—the tip, the root, the flesh and fat, the blood and skin, etc.? What is the shape, color, function, symbol, and identifiable essence of the object of residence? Are the mind that cognizes and the consciousness that cognizes the same or different? Examine carefully. As a sign of mastery, there is no abode or place of reliance anywhere. It is not established in any form, so it is free from identification. Consciousness is clear and apparent, but its own nature is not established. It is groundless, rootless, and established in the great emptiness, and it is in harmony with the unceasing Sambhogakaya. At this time, on the three doors, whatever sign of experience arises from the immediate cause of feeling, it appears as if it exists there. This is caused by the aggregate of formation, conditioned by the arising of conceptual thought, and the fruit of ownership ripens due to attachment to the object of apprehension. When the object of apprehension and the apprehender are emptied and exhausted, if one can pass through it without fear or anxiety, it is said that one can also attain peace from this. Examining the Place of Going and the Goer Thirdly, examining the place of going and the goer. Afterwards, for this mind that thinks, "It arises like a rainbow and disappears like a rainbow," examine where it goes—externally, internally, in the vessel and its contents, in appearance and emptiness, in existence and non-existence, etc. Since there is no place to go, it is determined that the appearance of objects is created by the mind. Examining the mind of the goer, it is also free from identification, so there is no self-nature of the object.
