Firstly, guiding the meaning of virtue. Firstly, guiding the meaning of virtue. Praise. First, the praise is, as the noble Nagarjuna said: "The author of treatises to the teacher, praise is not meaningless, to the teacher and the treatises, in order to generate faith and desire." As it is said. The perfectly complete Buddha Samantabhadra, father and mother, Dharmakaya, free from all elaborations, from which, the profound and vast Sambhogakaya, father and mother, the five families, arise in the form of a great snow mountain and ocean, the Nirmanakaya of self-nature and taming beings, immeasurable and inconceivable. Again, emanations and further emanations, etc., beyond number and thought, in accordance with the realms, faculties, and inclinations of sentient beings, all the various appearances without exception, the complete collection of the embodiment of Guru Rinpoche, and the kind and inseparable venerable and supreme Lama, to that one, in the three times of past, future, and present, with one's own awareness inseparable, merging as one, knowing that there is no difference or separation, with joy, respect, and a mind endowed with supreme faith, I prostrate and pay homage. Thus. Vow. Second, the vow is, whoever is sharp-witted and possesses the power of cause, in this very lifetime, dissolving into the primordial ground, is capable of attaining Buddhahood without remainder of the aggregates, the supreme path of swiftness. From the inconceivable treasury of the three kayas' intention, the profound and secret essence of the supreme methods is condensed and summarized with the four reliances and will be spoken. Thus, among them, to show the state of Kadag free from elaborations, Trekchö, and to show the wisdom of Lhundrub manifest, the path of Tögal is the subject to be expressed. Relying on this excellent explanation that possesses it, entering the correct path is the need. Having entered, attaining the state of the three kayas of the perfectly complete Buddha is the ultimate need. They arise one from the other, so they are established as having a connection, which is the connection. The four needs, etc., are also shown to be complete in meaning, and the other meaningful activities are brought to completion, and there is also the need for that to be transformed into the benefit of others, which is the Bodhisattva.

Śāntideva said, "It is best not to begin, but once begun, do not turn back." Furthermore, in accordance with the practice of Bodhicitta, even if the stupas of the Victorious Ones have been built, Bodhisattvas, even after passing away from sorrow, accomplish all purposes. How can there be fruition from making offerings to something without mind? Because whether residing or passing into sorrow, it is said to be the same." And so on.

When it's mildly cool and warm, the environment is pleasant, and the mind is peaceful, it's conducive to meditation. There are two times mentioned: when the sun rises over the mountain peak in the morning and when the sun sets in the evening. These two times are excellent because they are clear and expansive. Moreover, timing is crucial for transmission, with benefits when the timing is right and drawbacks when it's not. As it was said before, "Because of the difference in the time of transmission, the wise should seek the key points of timing." It is also said, "The transmission is established, and the experiential understanding increases." And, "If the wise do not rely on the key points of timing, the essence stagnates and is separated from the growth of experience." So it is said. Qualities of a Lama. Qualities of a Lama to be Abandoned. Third, the qualities of a Lama are twofold: those to be abandoned and those to be relied upon. First, the qualities to be abandoned are: In the Tantra of the Great Self-Arisen Awareness, it says: "Ignorant with great pride, foolishly following words, not contemplating the meaning of secret mantras, speaking harshly with arrogance, entering a wrong path, not seeing the mandala of empowerment, breaking vows and commitments, unable to answer questions, little learning with great pride, an unexamined teacher is a demon to students. Not a teacher who shows secret mantras, unable to teach Dzogchen Ati, do not associate with them." This means not understanding the meaning of the words of the Great and Small Vehicles, and having great pride from knowing only a little; being ignorant and blindly following words with great faith; not being able to analyze the hidden meaning of secret mantras with the six ways and four reasons; speaking harsh words with arrogance because of a bad and untamed nature; going astray because of misunderstanding the meaning; not having fully seen the common and uncommon mandalas of empowerment; having violated, broken, and transgressed vows and commitments; not being able to answer questions truthfully; having little learning; and having great self-righteous pride. If one possesses these faults, even if one's lineage and status are high, one is a demon obstructing the path to enlightenment, so one should be abandoned. If one does not abandon such a teacher, all meaning will be lost, and it will become a cause for falling into samsara and the lower realms. As it is said in "Klong gsal," "If a Lama without qualities gives empowerment, both teacher and student will be ruined." And so on, as it is said. Qualities of a Lama to be Relied Upon. Second, the qualities to be relied upon are: In the Great Atiyoga Arrangement, it says, "Wise and detached from worldly affairs,\
