At the time, Lhatsunpa reported all the differences in Tibet to him, and requested him to compose a treatise that would correct all these problems. Therefore, he composed this "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment," as if extracting the essence of the Buddha Bhagavan's twelve scriptures or the three pitakas. To this, Putowa said: Some say that Lhatsunpa reported many differences in Tibet, and in order to answer each question, he composed the "Lamp for the Path." Geshe Dromtönpa said: It was not just those trivial matters, but it was created to universally refute all wrong ideas. Sharawa said: Now in these northern regions, even when a Bonpo speaks or gives, they say that Jowoje Lhachig (Jowo Rinpoche) has great kindness, it is because this Dharma has great kindness. This Dharma has great kindness, and it is also because Geshe Dromtönpa has great kindness. Geshe understood Jowo's intentions and oral instructions through meditation, and put everything into practice. Now, even the minor practices such as guarding the fast every day, and inviting a Dharma speaker for each of the four assemblies, are the kindness of Geshe Dromtönpa. Putowa said: Now in this valley of ours, even for a novice who has just shaved his head today, there are many things to do. The things of all those people are also small. Geshe Dromtönpa went to Kham when he was sixteen years old to see Jowo Setzun Wangchuk Shyönnu Chen. Setzun was also the Khenpo of Drung, so the stories of Drung are all different. Geshe Dromtönpa Shiwa, Geshe Dromtönpa stayed in Kham for twenty years, and when he himself was thirty-six years old, Jowo Setzun said: Acho, your father seems to be still alive, so go and meet your father once. So he went up. At that time, he heard the news that Atisha had gone to Ngari, and thought that if he went to Ü-Tsang, he would have to meet that Pandit once, so he went up, met his father briefly, and then went towards Yeru. After a journey of nine months with Jowo and his disciples, at the time of going to India in seven years, they arrived in the Zhangzhung region, and as soon as they arrived, they requested a delay, but this was impossible. The body was tired, and in order to serve him, they came to Tibet.

When it was reported that they wanted to stay here, Atisha was very pleased and said that if there were so many ordained monks, then it was the nature of Dharma that Arhats would appear among them, as stated in the scriptures, so there were Arhats residing in Tibet. After that, he also said that all of them were Mahayana practitioners. When asked what school most of them followed, they replied that most of them followed the Madhyamaka school, and Atisha was very pleased. Everyone was encouraged by this and requested the尊者 to go to Tibet. The 尊者 said, "I have vowed to fulfill the wishes of the Sangha. If it is beneficial to the Sangha, I will go." So he agreed. After that, Geshe Dromtönpa sent people with letters to inform the patrons of Tibet to come and welcome him. In this way, Atisha was invited to come. Later, the 尊者 was not satisfied with the ordained monks either. Dromtönpa asked, "How many ordained monks are there in Tibet?" Avadhuti replied, "A moderate number." At that time, everyone in Tibet took the Dharma King as the standard of their views, and it is said that Dharmaraja said, "That is just Mind-Only." In this way, if Geshe Dromtönpa had not come and had left directly, then all these teachings would now only be at the level of name-and-form scholars studying and contemplating in the monastic colleges. When Geshe Dromtönpa reported to the 尊者 whether the statements of this Dharma were consistent, the 尊者 said nothing but, "He is the true disciple of the author." If there is only one commentary on this Dharma, then after doing it, one will feel longing, and after doing it, only I can do the commentary on this Dharma now, it is said that he said that. That is indeed the case. Even if there is a commentary, it is only to decorate and beautify the scriptures, and there will be no pith instructions. In this Dharma, there is only one verse each for the small and medium persons, because Geshe Dromtönpa possessed the oral instructions of Atisha and incorporated them into his own practice, and because they were mutually dependent, all the disciples cultivated by Geshe Dromtönpa, even including his relatives, seemed to be able to see the meaning of those two directly. Now, following the notes of Lhatsun, the so-called sectarian traditions, as well as the Eight-Session Dharma, the Gradual Dharma, the Three Persons, the Lamrim, and the many names such as "Sbreng," all rely on this. The meaning of all these Dharmas is to rely on the kindness of all the virtuous spiritual friends, and to listen and think diligently.

Therefore, it becomes like a key to all Sutras and Treatises, enabling understanding to arise. If, due to the vastness of understanding, everything is mixed together in this, then it will also become confusing. Therefore, each Geshe speaks according to their own understanding. Since many Geshes repeat different viewpoints, making it impossible to know who to trust, one should diligently consider each individual's perspective. Once the essential points of all these Dharmas are incorporated, all the Sutras and Treatises are presented in the order of the stages of the path. Lhabtön also said, "Relying on the instructions of that virtuous spiritual friend, one can obtain a key to unlocking all the Dharmas." This does not mean explaining the scriptures in their entirety and then mixing in oral instructions. The Kadampa tradition refers to a method of arranging all the Buddha's teachings and treatises in order and practicing them according to the time and circumstances. It does not refer to something small or insignificant. He said that without possessing the essential points of all these Dharmas, no matter how much one listens and explains, one will become a self-destroyer or regard others as objects of destruction, without understanding how to practice oneself. Secondly, starting from how Lord Atiśa composed the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment," the origin of the sacred Dharma is discussed.
