Here are the words on the path to escape the pit of samsara. Here are the words on the path to escape the pit of samsara. Namo Guru Padmasambhava. (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སམྦྷ་ཡེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो गुरु पद्म सम्भवाय, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru Padma Sambhavaye, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to गुरु गुरु Lotus Born). Homage to the Gurus, the assembly of Padmasambava lineage holders, the supreme beings whose kindness is unfailing. I prostrate with great reverence in body, speech, and mind. Although the writings of a beggar like me are inappropriate, I have recorded my experiences and dreams as they occurred. The kind Raga Asya said this, so I will elaborate a little. As I grew older, this thought arose: now, whatever happiness or suffering is like a dream and lightning. If I do not attain happiness in the future, what I have done is meaningless and only suffering. Therefore, I thought that I should practice Dharma this time. However, due to bad karma, I was lost in distraction. From the age of twenty-two to twenty-three, the thought of renunciation arose even more strongly. Due to good karma, I came to the Buddha's teachings. By accumulating merit, I obtained a human body with leisure and opportunity. With good fortune, I met the Lamas and Lords. I received various Dharma doors, the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra. Higher realms and liberation are in my own hands. Now, no matter what happens, I will practice Dharma. Although there are many ways to practice Dharma, looking at the biographies and songs of the accomplished ones of China and Tibet, abandoning worldly activities is the best. Other than the sacred Dharma that increases practice, this life is connected to parents, siblings, and relatives. Wealth, possessions, food, clothing, and talk, etc., all should be abandoned to accomplish the essential meaning. The best is in the snow mountains, the middle in the forests, and the lowest in uninhabited empty valleys and caves. One should not be like a sheep sacrificed for Dharma. Thinking this, I made vows to the Lama and Lord. These vows will never be broken. If I am controlled by this life, may the Lama, Yidam, Dakini, and Dharma Protectors inflict severe punishments in this life. May I be quickly reborn in the Avici hell in the future. If these vows are fulfilled, may I hold the victory banner of the Buddha's teachings. May the intentions of the glorious Lama be fulfilled. May I cross the ocean of suffering in samsara. May the two benefits of self and others be spontaneously accomplished. After making these vows, I set out to go to a cave in a thousand mountains. The kind Lama Raga, named so, is wonderful.

He said, "Great!" and rejoiced. He also spoke some pleasing songs and bestowed them. Then he said, "Go to the place where the accomplished master resides, to a secluded place in the depths of the forest." He praised the place and gave prophecies. Then he went and practiced single-mindedly. From twenty-seven days ago, the clear light occurred abundantly, day and night, continuously. Experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality mostly arose. There were some slight signs in dreams, which were vaguely recorded to be explained to others. After staying there for three months, the lama said, "Come back, meditate here with me, I will gradually dispel obstacles and enhance merits." "Do not go elsewhere, meditate here." Then he entered retreat, sealed the hermitage, and unified the practice of the heart, the inner-generated tummo (藏文:གཏུམ་མོ།,梵文天城体:चण्डाली,梵文罗马拟音:caṇḍālī,汉语字面意思:猛烈的女人) visualization of the essence, with the root practices. Practicing the heart practice that arises from within, day and night, reciting refuge, bodhicitta, the hundred-syllable mantra, and offering mandalas, practicing guru yoga, and training in trulkhor. He meditated by dividing the day and night into sessions. Regarding the signs in reality and dreams, in this life, the next, and all bardos, except for the refuge of the Three Jewels, he placed his hopes in no one, and thought that even if he went to hell, he would have no regrets. Such things often occurred in dreams. This was a sign that he had taken refuge in the Three Jewels. Then, all the six types of sentient beings were his own parents and relatives. Thinking, "In order to liberate these beings from the suffering of samsara, I will cultivate the essence of bodhicitta." He dedicated whatever virtuous deeds he did for the benefit of sentient beings. Loving-kindness and compassion genuinely arose in his mind. Such things occasionally occurred in dreams as well. He dreamed that others were trying to kill him. His own brother said to him, "Kill this person before he kills you!" He replied, "Having obtained a human body and encountered the Buddha's teachings, having drunk the nectar of the precious lama's words, if I do not practice Dharma from here now, how could I kill this person? If he kills me, he himself will be happy. So if he wants to kill me, let him kill me!" Having said this, he remained thinking in this way. He generated good bodhicitta.
