To Garga, the best of the assemblies of heroes, Bhagu made obeisance, and with folded palms, he fully inquired: O great ascetic with divine eyes, like a great ocean of fortune, the reasoning that thoroughly understands the supreme wisdom, may I obtain it. The reality and unreality of the land, the teaching and the fruit of accomplishment, the victory and defeat of the people, the colors and shapes of the clouds, likewise the sun and moon, the signs that appear as omens in the celestial realm, the sky, and the earth, the signs of immediate rain, the times of prosperity and decline, good and bad, from the daily cycles of the sun and moon, the falling of dry arrows and the collapse of the sky, the city of the Gandharvas, the fruit of earthquakes, the shape of the sun like a house, and likewise the description of the house of the moon, all of these without exception, please speak of them through the accomplishment of asceticism. Having asked thus, the greatly glorious Garga spoke these words: Whatever Bhagu has asked, listen to it, O fortunate one. This treatise, like a lamp, knows all that is needed, fame and clarity and all that is clear, it determines happiness and suffering, it is to be taught to the chief Brahmin and the king by the supreme sage. In the omens of the sun and moon, what is good, when the sun has a light like a blue উৎপala, sharp in glory when touched, cool like the moon, and appears in the middle of the sky, at that time the king will die. When the sun rises and sets, it turns like a wheel, at that time the demons will surely harm the king, and the armies of the enemy will also come, and the lands will also be disturbed, and at that time the land will be filled with wild animals like a wilderness. Or if the sun shines without being eaten by Rahula, then the king will always live inside and outside.

又，太阳在 未被罗睺星所食之时，在天空中显现一半吗？太阳本身在天空中移动了吗？如果颜色不好或者变成灰色，那时国王会受到伤害，民众会受到伤害，年成不好，盗贼们会变得强大，或者统治者不会降雨。又，在非时节太阳和月亮被罗睺星所食之时，那时人们会被刀剑所伤，同样也会受到内部争斗的伤害。国王也会受到伤害，会出现饥荒和大量的人员伤亡。人们也会与亲戚兄弟不和，发生冲突。人们的孩子也会在胎中死亡。又，如果太阳失去光芒，像瞎子一样显现，那也一定要知道国王会感到恐惧。又或者，太阳在天空中显现出像血一样的光芒，那时国王们和依赖他们的人们，以及国家和统治者们，会互相残杀。那时，所有的人都会做出不符合佛法、颠倒错乱的行为，这是一个预兆。当太阳升起时，像弓一样弯曲，被红色的云彩覆盖时，那时敌方的军队会到来。当太阳升起时，显现出影像时，那时预示着巨大的恐惧会到来。在那些时候，太阳升起和落下的时候，太阳被像被砍头一样的云彩覆盖时，要知道国家会发生巨大的恐惧。又，太阳升起和落下的时候，太阳游移不定，陨石坠落，发生地震时，国王会被杀害。又，如果太阳显现出有孔洞的形状，像驴子一样，或者像血一样的太阳在半空中清晰地显现，所有的人主都会受到伤害，疾病和饥荒会兴起，民众会陷入恐惧之中。当太阳和月亮游移不定，陷入不同的圆圈中，变得粗糙时，毫无疑问会发生战争。在太阳和月亮 游移不定，圆圈不完整，粗糙且分离，衰败时，就不会有光明。

Also, when the sun and moon are seized by Rahu at the wrong time, then people will be struck by swords, and similarly, they will also be harmed by internal strife. The king will also be harmed, and there will be famine and a great loss of life. People will also be discordant and in conflict with their relatives and siblings. The children of people will also die in the womb. Also, if the sun is without light and appears like a blind person, then it must be known that the king will be afraid. Or, if the sun appears in the sky with a light like blood, then the kings and those who depend on them, as well as the countries and the rulers, will kill each other. At that time, all people will engage in actions that are contrary to the Dharma and perverted, which is a sign. When the sun rises, appearing greatly curved like a bow and covered with red clouds, then the enemy's armies will come. When the sun rises, and images appear, then it indicates that great fear will come. At those times, when the sun rises and sets, and the sun is covered by clouds like a severed head, it should be known that great fear will occur in the country. Also, when the sun rises and sets, and the sun wanders, meteors fall, and earthquakes occur, the king will be killed. Also, if the sun appears with a shape that has holes, like a donkey, or a sun like blood appears clearly in the middle of the sky, all the lords of men will be harmed, diseases and famines will arise, and the people will fall into fear. When the sun and moon wander, fall into different circles, and become rough, then there is no doubt that war will occur. Where the sun and moon wander, the circles are incomplete, rough and separate, and decayed, there will be no light.
