Inner Pervasion. Ratnasambhava Shanti. Inner Pervasion. Ratnasambhava Shanti. In Sanskrit: Antar Vyāpti. In Tibetan: Nang gi Khyappa. Hail to the noble Manjushri Kumara! Being here is to act, because it is not appropriate to have a nature other than that. It is also pervaded by sequence and simultaneity, because they are the very nature of mutual determination, so no other mode is possible. For the non-momentary, there is no function of sequence and simultaneity. The same nature that does not change in time, the two contradictory dharmas of being the agent and not being the agent are not reasonable. For the time being, it is not gradual, because each gradual one will become the agent and non-agent in the past and future. Therefore, since there is no sequence in everything, all actions exist only simultaneously until now, and for it, it will be extremely contradictory to be the agent and not the agent in the past and future. The contradiction between the agent and the non-agent is impossible on one object. The same entity is also momentary until that time, so for this, sequence and simultaneity are established without connection. In this way, for the non-momentary, the act of pervading is not visible, because the existence itself is blocked, so it abides in the moment, so it is pervaded by the moment, and for it, it is pervaded by it, and it is established as the moment in whatever dharma it is established. Now this should be examined, in the dharma of the example, from the dharma that is not to be established, how is pervasion held here? Some say that it is from the dharma of the example, like smoke. Otherwise, because there is no purpose of establishing, and pervasion is established, if the two dharmas are not established, it will not arise. Because the pervasion of fire and smoke is completely established, when fire is established, one does not seek the inference born from the sign of smoke, which is the cause of the establishment of fire. This is a different arrangement, like this: He sees two dharmas, He holds pervasion in the example. Only seeing the intellect, He holds pervasion in the direction.

Moreover, when everything is brought together, it is to focus on the universal itself. Because it applies to the subject of qualities, it is understood through inference. If fire and smoke are established as the nature of cause and effect by those who see with direct perception, then the pervasion of these two is established. If being with fire is established by direct perception, then inference is without result. Before the pervasion is established, it is not established as momentary on the subject of qualities by another valid cognition. If only this quality that is to be proven here is seen, then by the power of that which can negate, it is understood that it is pervaded by two moments. Then, by what is that which proves it meaningless? It is meaningless because if one understands the subject of qualities as having momentariness, then one also understands it as momentary. If one says that, it is not so. The pervasion that possesses the collection of all is a limb of the establishment of what is to be proven. Therefore, this is merely focusing on the quality that proves, without relying on the particularity of the subject of qualities. It is like saying, "Wherever there is smoke, there is fire." However, it is not like saying, "Wherever there is smoke from the kitchen, there is fire." Similarly, here also, if the pervasion is understood by saying, "Whatever exists is momentary," then if the quality that proves is not included among those that exist in the subject of qualities, what need is there to mention the quality that is to be proven? Therefore, after separately understanding the generality of existence, the quality of the proving quality, the property of the side, and the pervasion, because by the power of these two, the quality that is to be proven applies to the subject of qualities, how can it be said that inference is without result? If such a pervasion is understood, because there is no special grasping of the subject of qualities, if one grasps the pervasion, then where does one understand the pervasion of existence that is seen? For example, if one grasps the pervasion of fire and smoke by seeing it in the kitchen, then one is not grasping the pervasion on the subject of qualities of the example. If one says that, it is not so. It has been shown that grasping the pervasion does not involve special grasping of the kitchen. Even by separately understanding the pervasion and the property of the side, because whatever understands the property of the side understands that it is pervaded by what is to be proven, is it not implicitly understanding what is to be proven? How can it be said that the prover is meaningless?
