Moreover, determination solely through the discriminating thought that eliminates others is not necessarily certain, because it is realized that things that are not objects of direct perception have also become like that. Affirmation and negation are not in the mind, nor are they aspects of what is apprehended, nor are they in the nature of imputation, because there is no confusion that everything exists in its own nature, so affirmation is meaningless and negation is contradictory. Saying this is also irrelevant. For example: From delusion, non-deception, and harm, regarding the existence and non-existence of external objects, the knower abandons other ways of knowing, because it is recognized that there is no difference. In reality, doubt arises about the appearance that has arisen, and it is understood through the perception of non-deception. When something is established as the first appearance, there is doubt: "Is this exactly as it appears? Or is it not like that?" If it is understood through non-deception, then it will become an affirmation of the external object, or if harm is prevented, then it will become a prevention of the external object itself, because there is no dispute about understanding it in this way. Because there is no delusion, the pot exists. The pot does not exist. Whatever understands affirmation and negation depends on certainty and is the ultimate of the external object. The meaning of sound is threefold, and the meaning of words is related to it, because it has already been distinguished before. This is not distinguishing something in some things and then affirming or negating it in some things, because the realization of difference is not established. If it is established, it is like recognizing that things exist in their own nature. For the consciousness of negation, it is not related to the meaning of negation. For affirmation, it is recognized in relation to the dharma that affirms the meaning that exists in its own nature, just as it is recognized as the nature of the blue ox of cognition. The so-called "does not exist" is not the meaning of negation related to the nature of the pot existing in various ways. However, recognizing the contradiction of its nature is recognizing the negation here. The meaning of non-existence is contradiction, and if the sound of the pot is not added, it will become without an object, so by adding it, it is recognized that the pot does not exist. Therefore, if the pot exists, how can it not exist? This will not become contradictory. Using sound on non-existent things, sound does not depend on meaningful things, so it is not contradictory.

End. Therefore, since this is irrelevant, it is best to follow the path as described above. Even the self-proclaimed wise have failed to truly understand anything, because they are afflicted by excessive speculation and clinging to clarity. This "Refutation of Others," which extensively destroys the heretical views of non-Buddhists, shouldn't the wise truly analyze it on the seat? "Accomplishment of Refuting Others" was composed by the noble Upasaka, the great scholar Brahmin Shankarananda, is completed.
