Sleep, etc., will be understood in other situations. Or it will never change, because even without the movement of others, there will be attachment to things. Attachment will arise, but action will not. If action can understand movement, then in a state of confusion, action also does not exist. Because empty knowledge arises, there is no fault. In all cases, the application of names is the same, but sometimes knowledge is empty of meaning. From where does this power of saying "other is other" come? If it is said that sleep, etc., changes the state. If such a situation is possible, it only happens because of the disturbance of ignorance. If that is the case, then speaking of other meanings will collapse, unable to hide numerous loopholes, this very troublesome problem will surely be defeated by one answer. Shouldn't it be inferred by seeing those manifestations of body and speech, that they are completely caused by the manifestations of body and speech? Those knowledges that appear as manifestations connected to others should not be the manifestations of others, because they are not produced by the immediate cause and the immediate cause. Because they themselves are the essence of manifestations caused by the minds of others. Therefore, it is not said that the knowledge appearing there can understand the mind that causes it. Then what is it? Because that is its result. Manifestations are knowledge in the form of actions and words, only arising from the stream of the mind that causes them. The mind that causes them is also only the immediate cause of them, and the knowledge of other streams is the dominant condition. Those produced by the immediate cause of manifestations, through that connection, are also approximately designated as manifestations. Although oneself and others each experience their own appearances, just as someone with cataracts sees two moons, due to the difference in the nature of the habits of the cause of such consciousness, from beginningless time, they will surely be attached to one thing. Because it arises from one cause.
