Because it resembles the nature of change, and because it is not related to self-nature, it is uncertain, and therefore it acts on words and sentences. If the so-called "manifestation" is said to be change because it has the nature of entering and exiting, then happiness and so on are not like that. If following manifestation and happiness and so on is the self-nature of happiness and so on, then the nature of entering and exiting will be lost. If it is separated from this, then it is not the self-nature of happiness and so on, because it contradicts the nature of manifestation. If it is said that because one sees following happiness and so on, the reason "because one sees following happiness and so on" is not established, then the fault of establishing it will become a refutation of the other party. Instead of stating the fault of the establisher, it exaggerates and imposes one's own fault on others. If this fault is stated in this way, then that is the realm of astrologers, because ordinary people cannot understand the meaning that is not expressed in words. This is like drawing a picture of a singer and dancer here. This is also according to the reason stated in this way, because the reason that the previously stated established branch is not established, it should be refuted, not because it is uncertain, and the words appear incidentally. This is also because it is included in similar reasons. Therefore, there is no need to state it separately. The similar reason mentioned above is also the object of refutation. Because it is related to other natures, will the similar reason become the object of refutation? For example, the valid measure is negated, and it will change because of measurability itself. Therefore, as shown above, only the nature of the similar reason will become the object of refutation, as it is said. Here, as mentioned above, what is mentioned is what needs to be examined, whether it is the detailed classification itself as described above, or other forms? This needs to be examined. Even if it needs to be examined, because this will become too excessive, it is not explained in detail. It is only necessary to understand here how to reasonably regard the similar reason as the object of refutation.

।। To see that very reality, to cut off the assembly of ignorance and dimness of the worlds. This reasoning of debate is spoken by those noble ones who delight in benefiting others. Because beings, through ignorance, obscure those who see that very reality. Therefore, in order to make it completely clear, I have made this effort. The commentary on "The Reasoning of Debate," composed by the great teacher Dharmakīrti, is complete. By the order of the venerable Lhatsunpa Zhip-ö and the venerable Lhatsenpo Tri Trashi Mangda Tsedétsen, it was translated, revised, and finalized by the great Indian abbot Jñānaśrībhadra and the monk Gewé Lodrö. Later, it was also revised and finalized by the great Paṇḍita Dīpaṃkara and the translator monk Darma Drak. The Commentary on "The Reasoning of Debate," by Dharmakīrti.
