The sound of 'ga' can represent not being permanent, and the sound of 'made' can represent not being unmade. The sound of saying 'non-existent' indicates not being existent. Saying things in this way from many aspects is to show the opponents for understanding and to establish the argument. For example, proving that sound is impermanent is the statement of the proposition. 'Because it is made' is the reason. Whatever is made is seen as impermanent, like a pot and so on. Saying it in the affirmative aspect is the concomitance of existence. Whatever is permanent is seen as not made, like space. Saying it in the negative aspect, these three aspects are the correct proof. Although one wants to prove it, but to exclude direct perception and so on, it appears as the object to be proven. What is excluded by direct perception, what is excluded by inference, what is excluded by trust, what is excluded by fame, what is excluded by one's own words, the property to be proven is not established, the subject to be proven is not established, both are not established, and they are mutually established. Among these, what is excluded by direct perception is, for example, saying that sound is not audible. What is excluded by inference is, for example, saying that a pot and so on are permanent. What is excluded by trust is, for example, a Vaisheshika proving that sound is permanent. What is excluded by fame is, for example, saying that the one with a rabbit is not the moon, because it exists; or saying that a human skull is clean, because it is a part of a sentient being, like a conch shell. What is excluded by one's own words is, for example, saying that my mother is a prostitute. The property not being established is, for example, a Buddhist proving to a Samkhya that sound is destructible. The subject not being established is, for example, a Samkhya saying to a Buddhist that I am the mind. Both not being established is, for example, a Vaisheshika saying to a Buddhist that I am the agent who gathers causes and conditions and arises dependently. Mutual establishment is, for example, saying that sound is audible. Saying things in this way from many aspects is to clarify the essence, because there is no need to prove it, and because although one can prove it, there is no result, so it is not.

Because it is a fault of pseudo-thesis, it appears as such. The pseudo-thesis has been explained. Now, let's discuss pseudo-reasons. The unestablished, the uncertain, and the contradictory are all pseudo-reasons. The unestablished also has four types: unestablished for both, unestablished for either one, unestablished due to doubt, and the basis being unestablished. Unestablished for both, for example, when establishing "sound is impermanent," saying "because it is the object of a name," and so on. Unestablished for either one, for example, for a treatise that wants sound to be clearly manifest, saying "because it is made," and so on. Unestablished due to doubt, for example, when seeing a sign of a gray substance such as doubtful steam, establishing "there is fire composed of the great elements." The basis being unestablished, for example, saying "space is real, because it is the basis of qualities," for a treatise that believes space does not exist, this is the basis being unestablished. The uncertain has six types: common, uncommon, pervading a part of the similar class and pervading the dissimilar class, pervading a part of the dissimilar class and pervading the similar class, pervading a part of both, and not confusing with the contradictory. Now, the common, for example, "sound is permanent, because it is measurable," because it is commonly pervading both the permanent and the impermanent, it is an uncertain reason. Like this, the reason of being measurable is like a pot, and so on. Sound is impermanent, or the reason of being measurable is like space, and so on, therefore doubting that sound is permanent. Saying uncommon, for example, saying "sound is permanent, because it is audible," when saying this, for both the permanent and impermanent sides, because there is nothing other than permanent and impermanent, this reason will cause doubt. Pervading a part of the similar class and pervading the dissimilar class, for example, saying "sound is not human when it first arises, because it is impermanent," here the dharma to be established, "first arises," is not, this is the similar class, lightning and space, and so on, impermanence itself exists on lightning, and so on.
