Therefore. Merit is the supreme cause for attaining liberation, merit is the source of fame in the world. Therefore, one should seek unsurpassed merit, attain the good realms and abandon the evil realms. People should always practice it, and the wise should do meritorious deeds. Then the king said to those merchants: Take your own jewels. Then they took them and offered them to the king, and said: This is also the blessing of the gods, enjoy the things of the gods well. The king said: I don't need anything at all, take it and go, and enjoy it without hesitation. Then the king praised the Three Jewels with great joy, saying: Ema Buddha, Ema Dharma, Ema Sangha is complete and perfect. Offering a handful of soil, one obtains such a Vipaka result. Then the king said again: Now the Nagas here are under my control, thanks to the kindness of the great Thuba, I practice good deeds and become a king, and my life has borne fruit. Who would not enter this supreme teaching of the Thuba who possesses supreme qualities? For example, if a grain of seed is sown, if it can produce a huge fruit, what more needs to be said about offering jewels? Then the Nagas returned after being associated with the Dharma. The chapter on subduing the Nagas through the gate of no sorrow is complete. Translated by the Indian Khenpo Abbot Ajita Shribhadra and the monk Shakya Light.
