The talk like a precious treasure of well-spoken words, Hero. The talk like a precious treasure of well-spoken words. Hero. In Indian language: Subhāṣita-ratna-karaṇḍaka-kathā. In Tibetan language: The talk like a precious treasure of well-spoken words. Homage to youthful Mañjuśrī! By what, like the mind of a supreme elephant, not by an iron hook, but by the hook of wisdom, it is subdued. The army of the darkness of desire, not by fire, but by the fire of wisdom, is completely burned. The powers of demons, not by weapons, but by the weapon of wisdom, peace, and patience, are averted. To the Buddha who meditates with reverence, who is peaceful, whose wisdom is greatly expanded, to the Lord of Sages, I pay homage. What is obtained with a hundred difficulties, the leisure that people obtain is rare. The Lord of Death, who cannot be averted, is always present in front, therefore. By what one tames and practices generosity, do not accumulate many possessions, in the unbearable suffering of samsara, those who go there obtain suffering. What people obtain is difficult to obtain, like a flash of lightning in the sky. The wise who exhaust existence, benefit in all existences. Obtaining a true human body, is as unstable as lightning and a waterfall, therefore, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the merit is shown by those who are born after. As people obtain now, by whose power they will obtain later as well, whatever is the supreme merit, that is the cause of happiness, appearance and generosity, noble lineage, etc., one will be endowed with various qualities. That merit itself is the only friend, a friend who goes in all samsaras, thus here by merit, later and later qualities are completely fulfilled. When one obtains and relies on the abode of wealth, that is praised as the lord of the world, leading to the side of benefit, increase that merit itself. With great merit, abandon the joy of sin, the mind's horse that moves to objects, always reverse and pacify. The unbearable power of the poison of the incarnation of death, until one has not taken a break, always you, like the Lord of Sages, be exceedingly happy in benefiting others. The first chapter, the talk that generates joy in merit, is complete. Like the neck of a turtle entering the hole of a yoke in the ocean, it is very rare to meet for a moment, think well about this impermanence. The path of the city of utmost peace, evil

Having gone, destroying all fears, That was spoken by the Lord of Sages. Even for a moment, It is difficult to hear. A person who has abandoned the faults of the eight unfree states, Whoever is rare for hundreds of eons, Thus, a wise person who has attained happiness, Should strive here to listen to the sacred Dharma. The realms of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals, And animals with incomplete faculties, Immortals, ignorant ones, and those born in border regions, Eliminating wrong views and all sentient beings, The nectar of the Sugata's speech, Only wise beings can drink it, The Sugata, possessor of the light of wisdom, Cannot exist without appearing in the world. Therefore, having abandoned what should not be done, Knowing all of one's own actions, One should listen to the noble and profound Dharma. Whoever strives in this Dharma, Will have all qualities. Jewels arise from the Sugata's speech, The wise rejoice at this initially, Whoever hears it, Always powerful and steadfast, Will destroy the masses of darkness, If one thinks and meditates, one will ultimately be clear. The cycle of fearful births, Gradually abandon all afflictions without exception, The treasure of all perfections and permanence, Destroying the unbearable cycle of existence, Attaining unsurpassed joy and happiness. Hearing here, the mind is without defilement, Thus, contemplate the Sugata's words. The second talk on generating enthusiasm for listening to the Dharma is finished. Having obtained what, the seeds of crossing to the other shore of samsara are produced, The supreme seed of the glory of enlightenment, More excellent than a wish-fulfilling jewel, People with a continuous stream of qualities, Who here makes it fruitless? Whoever is a person rich in merit, Having obtained it through countless eons, Here, out of ignorance, does not accumulate the treasure of merit, Not even a little bit, Those beings in the next world, Enter into an unbearable house of sorrow. A merchant who has gone to a treasure island, Is like returning home with empty hands. Without the path of the ten virtuous actions, One will not obtain it again later. Without obtaining a human body in between, How can there be happiness and suffering? There is no one more deceived than that, There is no one more foolish than that, Having obtained such leisure and endowment, Not accumulating the accumulation of merit, Accumulating sins in a single moment, One will remain in Avici hell for an eon. Having committed sins in many lifetimes, What need is there to say that it is difficult to obtain a happy rebirth? Like a turtle's neck fitting into a yoke hole floating in a vast ocean, Humans are extremely
