印度语:Śrāmaṇeraśikṣāpadasūtra(梵文天城体:श्रामणेरशिक्षापदसूत्र,梵文罗马拟音:Śrāmaṇeraśikṣāpadasūtra,沙弥学处经)。

The Sutra on the Basis of Training for a Novice Monk. Kalyāṇa Mitra. The Sutra on the Basis of Training for a Novice Monk. Kalyāṇa Mitra. In Indian language: Śrāmaṇeraśikṣāpadasūtra. In Tibetan: The Sutra on the Basis of Training for a Novice Monk. Homage to the All-Knowing One. Homage to the supreme Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. For the sake of novices, I will briefly explain this sutra. The ten bases of training for novices, as briefly stated by the Thus-Gone One, are as follows: the basis of training to abandon killing; taking what is not given; engaging in non-chaste conduct; lying; intoxicating liquor made from grain and mixed liquor, which are places of heedlessness; sounds of dancing, singing, and music; garlands; applying perfumes; wearing ornaments and colors; high beds; large beds; untimely food; and taking gold and silver, which is called the basis of training to abandon. This is the summary of the ten bases of training spoken by the Bhagavan. Furthermore, the monk Shakya Light composed verses incorporating these. Moreover, in order to learn a little from teachers and preceptors, I will compose a brief sutra for the sake of those who practice in accordance with the pure life. That which is called abandoning killing means not intentionally killing women, men, hermaphrodites, and beings belonging to the realm of the gods. Not killing through others, not killing by means of spells and the like, not seizing for the purpose of killing, not being in the process of killing, not being heedless in killing, not rejoicing in seeing killing, not rejoicing in anything that is not to be done, not participating, not instructing others to kill, and not intentionally killing even small creatures such as ants. One should not enjoy water and the like that contain living beings. Those who possess mindfulness and awareness should examine water and the like at sunrise, and should examine this immovable thing. Not with divine eyes, not for a long time, not quickly.

, one should observe when the mind is pure. This observation should also be enjoyed before sunrise. After completing the flawless handling related to filtering, etc., when walking in the observed water path, one should drink within a distance of five spans. Among the five water filters, in order not to be swallowed by ghosts, one should carry one water filter on the road. The five water filters are: triangular water filter, bottle-shaped water filter and round-bottomed water filter, bottle-shaped water filter with a neck, and broom water filter. Water that has not been observed by oneself should not be easily enjoyed because of trusting words. If the water is not mixed with other things, it should be observed and drunk at the flowing place of the river in the distance. One should observe bottles and the like filled with water. When filtering water, if living beings are found, the living beings and the water should be poured into a container away from the well and released, but not poured on the ground. The same should be done for water without living beings. For those who cannot speak and those who have wisdom, one should observe leaves and the like. When observing leaves and the like, if living beings are found, they should be discarded in a place with green grass. For water with living beings, if it is considered inanimate, or if there is hesitation; for water without living beings, if it is considered to have living beings, or if there is hesitation, it should not be easily enjoyed. If the meat is completely pure, that is, there is no reason to see, hear, or suspect, it can be eaten. Whatever is eaten or drunk should be observed separately. For clothes and the like, one should observe whether there are living beings and make them clean. The containers for holding food and water should be kept clean at all times, whether or not they contain water, they should be washed and dried. Because if the container is defective, living beings will breed. Lice should be put in cloth and then put into holes in walls and the like. Grass lice should be discarded in the spring in a cool place with tender grass, and in the winter in a warm place. For patients, poison, weapons, and desires
