Therefore, one should not prostrate to other deities even in Secret Mantra. Having prostrated to the Three Jewels, one should recite the Secret Mantras performed by others. If someone takes refuge in those worthy of refuge, the Buddhas, And then goes and respectfully prostrates to others, That is a sign of the Shakya lineage, Like eating burning food, a cause for ridicule. Praying to the Lama is in accordance with the aspects of decline, this is the thirteenth basis of training. Next, situations arise that are in accordance with the aspects of monastic decline, Just like disrespecting the Three Jewels. One should not reside for more than five days, Or the Vinaya and Uposatha become degenerate. Even if it is not explicitly stated, Because the Vinaya is proclaimed, there is Uposatha here. In order to clearly understand the Vinaya, Therefore, the meaning of Uposatha is not different from it. O venerable ones, please listen to my words, Today is the Uposatha of the noble Sangha. Today is also the Uposatha of me, a novice monk, "I will go correctly" is the mantra. Clean the courtyard of the stupa as much as possible, Adorn it by spreading incense and flowers. Examine your own mindstream first, strive to be a monastic, And confess your transgressions before the Sangha. Possessing discipline, knowing the rituals of the Vinaya, Having compassion for the sick, a pure retinue, Striving to benefit in Dharma and material things, Admonishing at the right time, thus praising the Lama. Respecting the Khenpo, having completely pure discipline, Always striving in meditation and recitation, Being strict, disciplined, and endowed with patience, One should know that this is a Dharma-abiding place for the Sangha. In the order of mentioning the names of villages and so on, One should make a vow to observe the summer retreat in summer. If he goes elsewhere, He should go after blessing it for seven days. One should not respect those who have broken their vows, One should not associate with them or enjoy their possessions. Parents, Lamas, and the sick, Even if they have broken their vows, should be respected. Those who commit offenses and disrupt families, The third type here are those who have broken their vows. Having stopped fighting, having struck the ghanta, Like a dead and decaying corpse, they must be expelled. Whoever is a pillar, holding the Sutras, And others as well, should be investigated and expelled according to the ritual. If helpers are sent, they should be reinstated, If not, they should be given compensation according to their share.

Oṃ. Those who proclaim Samkhya and others with a belief in truth, For them, food becomes poison. Having declared the Buddha's words as they were taught, Read other texts in order to examine them definitively. The qualities of that Buddha are spoken of, Because of the teachers who possess words. By mentioning meanings and so on, near words should be made, The names of those who have become Khenpos with reverence should be spoken. To the elderly, speak with respectful near words, To the young, also with near words of long life. Likewise, near words called Sthavira should be spoken. Thus, here, names are mentioned in order. All vows are in accordance with the side of being broken, that is, the fourteen root downfalls. Whatever is not permitted, nor is it forbidden, That should be considered and upheld in accordance with what was said. This is similar to the lamp called "Condensed Vinaya," This other was spoken by the Sugata. May the merit born of the condensed emergence of the Dharma of the monks, Cause the light of Shakya in this world, To be perfected from the path of teaching, May I go to the place of glorious enlightenment. Shakya's friend, the precepts spoken by the Sugata, The jewel light I have well gathered from the ocean of Vinaya, From the mouth of the powerful Vajra, that of all the Sarvastivadins, With distinct and definite differences, it is harmoniously arranged into a garland. The fifteenth chapter of the Condensed Vinaya. The verses of the Sarvastivadin monks, Composed by the learned teacher Shakya Ong, are complete. The verses of the noble Sarvastivadin monks. Shakya's Light.
