Furthermore, to explain that very reason, it is said: "Bhikkhu white," and so on. Then, that Brahmin asked the Blessed One, "Why does the Blessed One not grieve?" After asking this, the Blessed One said, "Brahmin, I have nothing, and for one who has nothing, there is no grief or anything like that." The Brahmin asked, "Gautama, how is it that you possess nothing?" Therefore, these were said. "Black Dharma" refers to black bodily actions, and so on. "Completely abandoning" means eliminating and distancing oneself, because being controlled by others makes it impossible to practice virtuous Dharma. So what should one do? "Practice white Dharma" means to become accustomed to your virtuous Dharmas. To explain the benefit of abandoning all black Dharmas and fully embracing all virtuous Dharmas such as meditation, the word "bhikkhu" is mentioned, and "destroying all afflictions" is the remainder of the sentence. To show that because of being free from desire in the three realms, one becomes truly without anything in the ultimate sense. To explain the three types of enlightenment, the plural word "bhikkhus" is used. Anyone who is free from desire for the desire realm is also without anything. To explain the sequence of transcending desire, the phrase "gone forth from home to homelessness" is mentioned, referring to going forth from home to homelessness, from a place to no place, because the sutra says, "gone forth from home to homelessness." If asked how one becomes homeless, it is said, "a solitary place of practice," referring to the state where, for one who is homeless, both body and mind enter with the nature of solitude, therefore it is fully embracing renunciation, showing that this is the way of fully perfected renunciation. Because dwelling at home is the nature of distractions. "Learning" means doing. "Rejoicing therein" means rejoicing in renunciation. For wrong renunciation, the word "rejoicing" indicates the completely pure discipline, relying on which one tastes the flavor of samadhi.

Moreover, one will develop great joy in becoming a renunciate. Thus, abiding in discipline and savoring the taste of meditative stabilization, what is to be abandoned and cultivated is what is said: "Abandon desire," which is to cultivate detachment from desire from desires. Because desires are bad and useless, and because they are non-supreme objects. Abandoning it will lead to nothingness, and nothingness is a bad thing. To show that nothingness itself is purity, it is said, "Always the essence," and so on. A Brahmin named Bharadvaja Sundarika asked the Blessed One: "Ascetic Gautama, I am going to bathe in the Sundarika River." The Blessed One replied: "Brahmin, what happens after bathing in the Sundarika River?" "Yes, Ascetic Gautama, the steps are praiseworthy, and the Sundarika River is auspicious and praiseworthy. Whoever bathes in the Sundarika River will eliminate all sins." How much was said like this? Purity means that the stream of beings is washed with the water of pure discipline, because there is no misconduct of body and speech that has been abandoned. Water is only external purity, and nothing has been abandoned. Always means at all times. Essence refers to the seasons, meaning the days of bathing and celebrations. Bathing on the steps only removes hundreds of black stains and separates external stains, but it does not separate one from all evil deeds, so others are not the essence, meaning unlovable. "Apalgu" is a synonym for non-essence, and its antidote is essence, that is, the antidote to Apalgu. Abandoning sin is the essence, and bathing on the steps does not make one free from sin. Only accumulating good deeds makes the mind tame and pure, but bathing on the steps does not. To show this, it is said, "Always observe the Uposatha, purity," and so on. Purity refers to restoring the Pratimoksha vows and so on every day.

That is, as the Brahmin Kabyin asked, "Should we do Uposatha or not?". Therefore, the Blessed One said, "Always do Uposatha, it is pure.". For this reason, it is said on the fifteenth day and so on, Uposatha is the teaching of the Pratimoksha Sutra, thereby giving rise to the protection of discipline. In terms of cultivation of the path, it is for taming the mind and approaching merits, etc. Why? Because it is said, "Pure action". Because the person who acts without fault, is acting with perfect discipline. "Pure" means that the power of the path removes the inner impurities. "His discipline becomes perfect", means that only one's own perfection can be achieved, and it is connected with the desired result. It is to guide the difference of the path, and to guide the difference of the fruit, not others. To show that the completely pure one is the field itself. Therefore, it is said, "The fault of the field" and so on. A non-stingy person gave flour to Rabjor, and as a result, he obtained a treasure, and then offered food to the Blessed One and the Sangha of Hearers. That person sat in front to listen to the Dharma, and the Blessed One spoke four verses at his request. Others say that King Mingwang asked the Blessed One, "To whom should I give alms?". The Blessed One said, "Great King, who do you have faith in?". Others say that other sects asked, "To which monk should we give alms to get great results?". That's what they say. The so-called "field" refers to the basis for achieving crops. The so-called "fault of grass" refers to the fault of having grass, that is, the fault of grass, because it is damaged by grass, thorns, and rot, etc., so the fruit becomes small or there is no fruit. "This world has the fault of desire", means that the beings of the world are damaged by the fault of desire. The word "la" means "thus", that is, just like the grass, etc. in the field are cleared, it can become a place where crops are abundant.
