Not knowing the Dharma is through not knowing the aspects of well-spoken words, etc. Not knowing the Sangha is through not knowing the aspects of well-entered ones, etc. Not knowing suffering, etc., is through how it is distinguished in the Sutras, or through the sixteen aspects. Not knowing the causes is not knowing that the limbs of existence, such as ignorance, are the causes of actions, etc. What is called arising from causes is not knowing that actions, etc., arise from causes such as ignorance. The dharmas of the completely afflicted and completely purified sides are the non-virtuous and the virtuous. Having faults and not having faults are having disadvantages and benefits. Black and white are in accordance with the aspects of ignorance and knowledge. Black and ripening is black, and white and ripening is white, with separate distinctions, all that ripens is white and black, all those white and black, because they arise from causes and conditions, therefore not knowing those called dependent arising. Not understanding the six sources of contact as they really are means not understanding the arising of contact that arises from the six sources, such as experiencing happiness, and their cessation and pacification. The use of the phrase "not knowing as it really is" is for the sake of realizing the Dharma as it really is, and for the sake of wisdom, seeing, and realization. What is called "in this and that" is as said or not said. What is called "not knowing" is hidden. What is called "unseen" is not manifest. What is called "unrealized" is not relying on others for what is to be realized as it really is. Darkness is not knowing the real object. Universal delusion is superimposing on non-real objects. Ignorance is not being skilled in the objects of knowledge, not arising in those, such as not knowing the meaning, name, words, and collection of letters of what is said. Darkness is those who have wrong views that slander everything.

Kyi o. Obscuration, severance, and causing blindness are explained in detail as follows: It should be understood from the root collection. Completely obscured, severed, arrogant, and extremely arrogant are explained in detail as follows: It should be understood as it appears in the Sutra of the Greedy One. Not using honorifics means not adding the word "zhes (藏文, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning)". Not regarding as a lama is because of not trusting in qualities. Not pleasing means being impoverished by desire. Not making offerings means not obtaining. Furthermore, from "not using honorifics" to "not making offerings" is an explanation of the subsequent words. Because of not being respectful, not regarding the teacher as a lama when listening to the Dharma, not trusting, is explained in detail as follows: It should be understood from the Compendium of Ascertainments. Not listening respectfully means not wanting to listen. Not paying attention means the mind is distracted. Not focusing the mind that desires to know everything is precisely not wanting to practice. Not practicing means not properly contemplating the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma. Not correctly receiving and abiding means not understanding the teachings of the Teacher. Sleeping among the living means being meaningless, which is a word of teaching. Without fruit means deceiving the cause of going to a good destination. Not a fruit means deceiving that fruit. Meaningless means deceiving the cause of attaining liberation from sorrow. Without benefit means deceiving the attainment of that fruit. Asking "Is the harm small?" is due to the imbalance of the elements. Asking "Is the fear small?" is due to the imbalance of the application of the end of karma. Asking "Is the movement light?" is due to the food being palatable and easily digestible. Livelihood, strength, happiness, and blamelessness should be known in this way from understanding the measure of food in the Hearer's Ground. Not distinguishing, not individually distinguishing, is explained in detail as follows: It should be understood from the Hearer's Ground. Not thinking, not measuring, is explained in detail as follows: It should be understood from the Hearer's Ground. Little means extremely.

It is merely the absence of something. Small is merely possessing inferiority. Knowing little is merely completely grasping what is to be named. What is called difference is the difference of one's own nature. What is called thought is the distinction of the conventional nature. What is called different is the difference of the nature of the cause. This is called the collection of terms. These are extracted from the Compendium Sutra of many terms established about myself, and are also fully shown from the point of view of meaning. The terms shown by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are immeasurable. These and other terms, and other terms of meaning, should also be examined and fully shown by this aspect, this training, and this teaching. It should be distinguished and established. The collection of terms from the Yogacarabhumi is completed. This contains seven hundred and twenty-five shlokas. The Collection of Terms from the Yogacarabhumi. Asanga.
