It is said, "doing" and so on. Since the mind of enlightenment is the essence of pursuing meaning, unwanted things will naturally disappear. As for the antidote to not knowing the method itself, it is said like this: do not abandon the virtuous friend. Because by relying on the virtuous friend, one will be able to obtain the knowledge of the method itself. Among them, the virtuous friends of the Bodhisattvas are the Bodhisattvas and the Buddhas. For example, the virtuous friend who speaks the Dharma of the Bodhisattva, such as the Buddhas, the Bhagavan, etc., are called the virtuous friends of the Bodhisattva. As for the antidote to not being biased towards sentient beings themselves, it is said like this: do not abandon patience and non-harm. Among them, patience is the patience towards the harm caused by others. Non-harm is not causing harm to others, in order to purify one's own mind, and to protect the minds of others, in order. In this way, the antidote that desires suffering and harm becomes the antidote to not being biased towards sentient beings themselves. As for the antidote to the manifest object, it is said like this: do not abandon living in a solitary place. Because there are no images of women, etc., that would cause attachment there. Because there is no mixing, it becomes the antidote to the manifest object. Again, four, which refers to the four dharmas that obstruct the assembly of Bodhisattvas. What are the four? It is like this: not doing, wrongly doing, abandoning doing, and being distracted in doing. Among them, as for the antidote to not doing, it is said like this: do not abandon the mind of enlightenment. Because the mind of enlightenment will strive for enlightenment, so it should be known that it itself is the antidote to not doing. As for the antidote to wrongly doing, it is said like this: do not abandon the virtuous friend. Because the virtuous friend is the cause of correct doing, for example, the virtuous friends of the Bodhisattvas will proclaim the path of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and the Dharma of the antidote to samsara. Therefore, they are virtuous friends, but if they are not like this, then

Becoming bad friends, for example, these four are the bad friends, the evil companions of a Bodhisattva: those of the Hearer vehicle who enter for their own benefit, those of the Pratyekabuddha vehicle who have little meaning and few affairs, and worldly boasters who possess various secret words of boasting, as it is widely proclaimed. Abandoning effort means completely abandoning the mind of enlightenment. To counteract it, one should not completely abandon patience and determination, because without patience and determination, one will be tormented by various sufferings arising from cold and the like, and from the harm of others, thereby completely abandoning the mind of enlightenment. Therefore, the antidote to abandoning effort is patience and determination. To counteract distraction from effort, one should not completely abandon dwelling in solitude, because even if one has the mind of enlightenment, if the body and mind are distracted, one cannot realize enlightenment. If one completely abandons the world and delights in dwelling in solitude, one can realize it, as it is said in the scriptures, for example, that the Victorious One who greatly rejoiced in solitude attained enlightenment. Furthermore, there are four dharmas that are in accordance with the accumulation of enlightenment. Because they are the basis of those, they are four, neither few nor many. What are the four dharmas that are in accordance with the accumulation of enlightenment? They are the desire for instruction and subsequent teaching, obtaining it, being a vessel for it, and practicing it. These four are in accordance with the accumulation of enlightenment, which is called the perfection, and are synonymous with accomplishing it. Among them, not completely abandoning the mind of enlightenment is for the sake of instruction and subsequent teaching. In this way, if one does not abandon the mind of enlightenment, Bodhisattvas will want to receive instruction and subsequent teaching from virtuous friends, like the noble Norzang. Obtaining it means obtaining instruction and subsequent teaching, and this is because one can obtain these two by relying on virtuous friends. Being a vessel for it means being a vessel for those two, which is synonymous with being a vessel for instruction and subsequent teaching. Its basis is patience.
