It does not belong to those who have entered the classification. One should refrain from meaningless words, because it follows place, time, and meaning, one should speak words that are pleasing and appropriate to all sentient beings. What is the reason for that? Because the Bodhisattva has good words. One should refrain from greed, and one should not generate attachment to the enjoyment of others and the wealth of others. What is the reason for that? Because the Bodhisattva is not attached. If the Bodhisattva is attached to self, he will degenerate from one aspect of the gate of omniscience. Lord of Secrets, the Bodhisattva who generates great joy should think like this: Those things that should be done, and those things that have become prosperous, are good, and one should repeatedly generate joy that the enjoyment of those sentient beings is not wasted. Lord of Secrets, furthermore, one should refrain from malice, one should always have patience, love, no anger, and a calm mind. One should treat enemies in the same way as friends. What is the reason for that? Because the Bodhisattva does not have a bad state of mind, the nature of the Bodhisattva is completely pure. Lord of Secrets, therefore the Bodhisattva should be free from malice. Lord of Secrets, furthermore, the Bodhisattva should refrain from wrong views, and should have right views, fear of the next world, non-deception, non-hypocrisy, honesty, and firm faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. What is the reason for that? Lord of Secrets, wrong view is a great fault of the Bodhisattva, it will cut off all roots of virtue. This is the root of all roots of non-virtue. Lord of Secrets, therefore, one should not generate wrong views even in jest, it is said. Place and intention, afflictions, time and number and limbs, etc., small, medium, and large, should be known in three ways. These ten paths of action should also know the place, etc.

These become small, medium, and large due to the power of their magnitude. Among these, the change caused by the place should be understood from the previously mentioned principles. Among these, there are three types of changes caused by intention: doing something out of ignorance is small, doing something carelessly is medium, and doing something disrespectfully is large. Among these, there are three types of changes caused by afflictions: afflictions such as desire are small, medium, and large, and actions such as killing are also the same. Among these, the change caused by time is that having one of the preparatory stage, the main stage, and the concluding stage is small, having two is medium, and having all three complete is large. Among these, the change in these ten paths of action caused by number is that doing it once is small, doing it twice is medium, and doing it three or more times is large. Among these, the change caused by the limbs is that most of the limbs of actions such as killing are incomplete is small, most are complete is medium, and all are complete and complete is large. The meaning of "etc." is that doing any one of these, such as killing, just once is small. Among these, not having remorse is medium. Among these, relying on the antidote is large. What should be restrained is small, what should be confessed is medium, and failure is large. Doing it playfully and following others is small. Even though one has no afflictions or faults, levying taxes and causing others to commit sins is medium. Having faults oneself but having others practice them is large. Furthermore, being involuntarily controlled by evil friends and unwholesome spiritual friends is small. Doing it for the sake of a good reputation is medium. Not fearing the ripening of karma is large. Furthermore, the detailed meaning of these ten paths of action can be found in the sutras such as the Noble Sutra on the Establishment of Mindfulness, and in the great treatises of the Yogācārabhūmi such as the works of the teacher, the Brahmin Dharmapāla Subhūti, and the *Vyākhyāyukti* (Exposition of Meaning) composed by the Noble Asaṅga. Furthermore, intentionally and completely, without regret, without antidote, retinue, and fruition.

From... It is called accumulated karma. Furthermore, regarding the karma of samsara, which is heavier, which is closer, and which is more habitual? From whichever of those previously done deeds, the earlier ones ripen earlier. Also, that which is deeply impressed upon the mind, and that karma which is newly done, and that which is repeatedly done and becomes habitual, from any of those, one experiences the result earlier. Experiencing from the present life, and experiencing from the next life, and experiencing in other lifetimes, and not being certain of experiencing. Karma is white and black, as well as mixed karma, these three types. It is clearly stated in the Sutras and Shastras. Therefore, karma, even after hundreds of eons, will not be exhausted; having accumulated in this way, when it ripens, it shows itself to sentient beings as the fruit itself. It is said, and one should definitely have faith in such things. May all sentient beings of the five realms, be born in this Jambudvipa, practice the ten virtues, and eventually, having relied on excellent Lamas, may they obtain the stainless discipline. 《The Discrimination of Actions》is completed. Composed by the great scholar, the glorious Dipamkara Jnana. Translated, edited, and finalized by the Indian Abbot and the revising translator, the monk Tsultrim Gyalwa.
