The Condensed Practice of the Mahayana Path. Marme Dze Yeshe (Dipamkara Sri Jnana). The Condensed Practice of the Mahayana Path. Marme Dze Yeshe (Dipamkara Sri Jnana). In Sanskrit: Mahayana Patha Sadhana Varna Samgraha. In Tibetan: The Condensed Practice of the Mahayana Path. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Possessing inconceivable greatness, if you wish to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, since it depends on the practice of Bodhi, therefore, diligently take up practice as the essence. The body of leisure and endowment, is extremely difficult to find, and having found it, it is also extremely difficult to find later, therefore, strive in practice to make it meaningful. The arising of Buddhas and the Sangha, the human body is difficult to find and has been found, the virtuous friend is difficult to meet and has been met, it is said, do not let it be meaningless. Like a butter lamp in the wind, there is no certainty of this life abiding, like a fire burning on the head or body, quickly begin diligence in practice. All the perfections of both the transcendent and the mundane worlds, know that they arise from the power of practice. Those wise ones who make practice the main thing, who among the wise would doubt the happiness in this and other lives? Therefore, those with intelligence, it is fitting to make practice the heart. Due to attachment to the basis of desire, a person whose practice conduct deteriorates, from all the perfections of both the transcendent and the mundane worlds, will only become extremely distant. In the terrifying prison of samsara, bound tightly by various bonds of afflictions, suffering, the immeasurable suffering of samsara, causes that continuum to be tormented and uneasy. Therefore, also, those with intelligence, having abandoned attachment to the basis of desire, it is fitting to make Dharma practice the main thing. In order to be free from attachment to desire, the immeasurable faults of desire, having understood them from the scriptures, always properly keep them in mind. Small enjoyment, great harm, view it as a poisonous drink. Non-Dharma is the cause of suffering, know it as the fire at the root. Desire is never satisfied, and it increases thirst, like drinking salt water, so it is said in the words of the Powerful One. The harm of desire is great, like the fruit on the top of a tree.
