Only by making it manifest, gathered by the path of seeing, is the very nature of the true Bodhicitta. Once this arises, it is to enter into the limits of objects, to be born into the lineage of the Tathāgatas, to enter into the faultless state of Bodhisattvas, to turn away from all worldly activities, to abide in the realization of the Dharma-nature and Dharma-dhātu of Bodhisattvas, and to obtain the first Bodhisattva bhūmi. Such benefits should be understood extensively from the ten bhūmis and so forth. This is the samādhi that focuses on suchness, which is taught in the Ārya Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra, and this is the entry of Bodhisattvas into the non-elaborate, non-conceptual state. On the bhūmi of adhimukti-caryā, it is established that one enters by the power of adhimukti, not by manifest action. If that wisdom arises, then one has manifestly entered. Thus, one who has entered the first bhūmi later cultivates wisdom and skillful means on the path of cultivation with the two wisdoms of transcendence and subsequent attainment. By gradually cultivating, one purifies the accumulated obscurations that are to be abandoned, making them even more subtle than the subtle, and in order to obtain more and more superior qualities, one completely purifies the lower bhūmis, enters into the wisdom of the Tathāgatas, and enters the ocean of omniscience, and also obtains the object of focus that accomplishes all needs. In this way, the Ārya Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra also declares that only by gradually purifying the mind-stream in sequence. In the Ārya Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, it is also said: 'Gradually, on the higher and higher bhūmis, one abandons the mind like gold, and manifestly and completely awakens to Buddhahood up to the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment.' When one enters the ocean of omniscience, one is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, endowed with a multitude of qualities that closely nourish all sentient beings. One also makes the fruits of past aspirations exist, one also transforms into the nature of great compassion, one is also endowed with various spontaneously accomplished skillful means, and with immeasurable and countless emanations, one accomplishes all the benefits of all beings, and all perfect qualities.

Has reached the ultimate peak. Having eliminated all the stains of faults, including habitual tendencies. Since one possesses the realization of abiding at the edge of the realm of sentient beings, one should generate faith in the Blessed One, the source of all qualities, and all oneself should strive to accomplish those qualities completely. Therefore, the Blessed One said this: The wisdom of omniscience arises from the root of great compassion. It arises from the cause of the mind of enlightenment. It is perfected by skillful means. The noble ones who have cut off the stains such as jealousy, are like an ocean of water that is never satisfied with qualities. Those who discern and hold well-spoken words are like swans who joyfully take milk from water. Therefore, wise people should abandon partiality, disturbance, and hesitation, and even the well-spoken words of children should be accepted in their entirety. Thus, by explaining the Middle Way, whatever merit I have gained, may all beings attain the Middle Way through it. The Stages of Meditation, composed by Acarya Kamalashila, is completed. The Indian Abbot Prajnavarman and the translator Bande Yeshe De translated, revised, and finalized it. The Stages of Meditation.
