Therefore, if consciousness is not momentary, consciousness should also be non-momentary. If consciousness is not momentary, then a moment should have three parts: a moment of arising, a moment of abiding, and a moment of ceasing. If there are no these three, then a kalpa should become a moment. If you do not wish this, then a particle should also be the same, which is difficult to avoid. Permanence contradicts sequence and simultaneity, and causelessness contradicts occasionality. Because there is no form, there is no proof. Consciousness without form is nowhere to be found. If there is no direct perception, then there is no inference, therefore you have no valid cognition. This consciousness, which is definitely separate from one and other, is of the nature of falsehood. Like one who is deluded by sleep sees a drunken elephant. The body, trees, sea, etc. seen by those who are awake, this consciousness that is separate from one and many, is completely clear. Therefore, this is because of ignorance, the nature of the body, etc. is established. Because it can simultaneously recognize various things, there is a favorable condition, and there is no contradiction. Like seeing a false dream, because everything is gathered together and pervades, it is also not uncertain. One should observe the impermanence and selflessness of the aggregates, elements, etc., and one should observe the meaning of external objects. After observing the meaning of external objects, one should abide in mind-only. After abiding in mind-only, one should also abide in non-appearance. The yogi who abides in non-appearance will see the Great Vehicle. Entering into meditation is spontaneously accomplished and peaceful, purified by prayers. The noble wisdom of selflessness, the Bodhisattva can enter. Actions, afflictions, suffering, etc., are the nature of samsara. This action arises from having an object, not from having no object. From selflessness, formlessness, and objectlessness, disciples, rhinos, and victors attain realization. By negating what is interpreted by valid reasoning, the illusory body is necessarily self-realized. Analyzing with reason, one is liberated from the extremes of existence and non-existence. Without analysis, both mind and consciousness are pleasing. If one admits that there is substantial existence, then unbearable attachment and aversion arise. Pride arises towards one's own deity, and jealousy and hatred arise towards others. Completely clinging to evil views, from this arises disputes. For the illusory phenomena of existence, for the illusory wisdom Buddha, if illusion is established by reason, then it is not illusion, but reality. If you say that unchanging illusion is established, then the meaning established by reason

is not real. What is the use of a name for illusion? The wise consider that it has not gone beyond the demon of grasping at reality. Without truth, there is no falsehood. Whoever has grasping at reality, will become arrogant towards their own deity, and generate hatred and anger towards others, from which disputes arise. The essence does not abide at all, it is neither existent nor nonexistent, nor both, not non-dual, not Madhyamaka, not empty, not non-empty, not without cause, not true, not true, not false, not samsara, not nirvana, not pure, not impure, there is nothing to be taken or abandoned, that is all. Why is that? Because mutually, it falls into the fault of dependence. Without one, the other does not exist, like the other shore without this shore. For whom there is no self-side, where would there be another side? The nature of great non-contention, samsara and nirvana, are not different, completely understanding samsara, is understanding nirvana. Abandoning samsara, in another place, there is not the slightest nirvana. In this, there is not the slightest to be removed, there is not the slightest to be added, look at reality as it is, and having seen reality, be liberated. When the fire of emptiness, merely burns the firewood of beings, the fire of suchness will also cease. For example, like rubbing two sticks, fire arises and burns itself. With the fire of wisdom, having burned the firewood of conceptual thought, it itself subsides. Nirvana is not a thing, not a non-thing, not both, in non-duality, it does not abide. A body without thought, without obstruction, without elaboration. If you ask: Does it not do the work of sentient beings? With the accumulation of merit and compassion, and the power of past aspirations, like the water of the ocean, the victorious ones, although they do not have doing and not doing, become one taste for the sake of sentient beings. For example, like a skilled carpenter, making what should be done. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, a wish-fulfilling tree, like a good vase, with the three bodies, constantly does the work of sentient beings. For example, after building a stupa, even if a long time has passed, like diseases and so on are pacified. The Buddhas from the uncontaminated realm, are neither one nor many, because like space, the body does not exist. It is also not many, because it follows the past body. One

It is also not anything else. When performing activities, Like a thousand suns rising in the sky, Their rays merging into one, May it become of one taste for the benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, may all beings realize, And after profound wisdom arises, By meditating on this meaning, may the unsurpassed, Great enlightenment be attained. Thus concludes "The Precious Garland of the Middle Way." Composed by the great Pandit Chandra Rahula.
