It is only taught as that, teaching that. If there were a real thing, then from the removal of Ajatasatru's regret, how could it be appropriate to say that all dharmas are nirvana and equality? If asked how it is said, Great King, all dharmas are extremely unborn, therefore they are truly nirvana. Great King, what do you think? Can a dharma that is unborn and unarisen cause complete affliction? He replied: Manjushri, no. Manjushri said: Can it be destroyed? He replied: Manjushri, no. Manjushri said: Great King, in that case, the Tathagatas know that all dharmas are truly nirvana, therefore they do not use it to remove your regret. Great King, therefore you should apply it properly. And so on, because it shows nirvana and equality, it clearly shows the absence of inherent existence. Because nirvana is not real, nor is it the absence of things, therefore all things are equal to it, without inherent existence. If nirvana were real, then it would become conditioned. Therefore, it would effortlessly possess the characteristics of conditioned phenomena. Or, if it is considered unconditioned, then it would become like space. Therefore, its manner as a real thing is not appropriate in any way. If nirvana is not real, then practicing its path would become meaningless. It also cannot be obtained through its power. Just as one cannot obtain a barren woman's son through its power. Similarly, because non-existence has no difference, it is also not its kind. By whose power, a barren woman's son cannot be obtained, nor can it arise, therefore, it is also not non-existence. Having seen all this perfectly, the one called Glorious Nagarjuna, who first created the earth, is spoken of by the greatest of the wise. If nirvana is not non-existent, then how could it be existent? Exhausting the clinging to existence and non-existence is called nirvana. And so on. Because there are faults in explaining both sides, it is also not the nature of both. In the nature of mutual non-dependence...

Sa! By the separation of non-one, the other's existence becomes an overreach, not both nor self, all those are like flowers in the sky, they do not exist. When one practices diligently, it becomes the reality of the power of valid cognition, in none of the three times does anything abide, being extremely clear, relying on that it is accomplished, becoming a companion of reality, how can it exist as its very nature? If one analyzes reality and then prevents it, wouldn't it just become an object of wisdom through analysis? Why is it that neither can be accomplished by the power of reason? Therefore, wise ones should loosen their attachment to it. Therefore, the wise, virtuous one, possessing immeasurable compassion, the wise one with the essence of wisdom, speaks to increase the intention of those to be tamed, because there is nothing to be refuted, in truth, it is clear without obstruction, in truth, not taking all dharmas, that is the knowledge of that very nature. Such as and so on. In the Lankavatara Sutra it is also said: The Great Self, with a compassionate heart, to reverse the dualistic grasping of sentient beings, speaks: Whatever arises from the unborn, and having arisen, also decays, by the existence and non-existence of conditions, it does not abide in my teachings. In whom there is no arising at all, and no cessation whatsoever, seeing beings as solitary, in that there is neither existence nor non-existence. Such as and so on, it clearly shows the nature of being free from dualistic views. Likewise, it is also said in this: Existence is led by the companion of non-existence, existence is also led by the companion of non-existence, therefore, one should not say it is non-existence, nor should one think it is existence. Such as and so on, without being struck by the demons of reality and non-reality, only the Bhagavan himself clearly established the doctrine, therefore, it concludes. For the sake of remembering the self-nature, I have briefly summarized. This is in the verses mentioned at the beginning, it is a part of the Middle Way. May the Buddha, who destroyed existence and non-existence, attained power through the greatness of surpassing, knowing the ultimate meaning of the three realms with compassion, abiding in samsara as long as it lasts, having made it extremely clear with scripture and reason, by whatever obtained immeasurable merit, may the cataract of clinging to all things as real be destroyed!
