Due to the cause of..., colors, bodies, forms, memories, and consciousnesses are in accordance with it, just like rules and models. Regarding this, some say that delusion deceives delusion: becoming Brahma brings great glory, obtaining power brings great strength, and so do Indra and Vishnu, deception and such medicines are comfortable. Therefore, the means to obtain them, no matter how many kinds there are, needless to say those that are easy to do, even the difficult ones are worth doing. Regarding this, people of this doctrine say, for example, in the manifestation of illusion, not knowing illusion but seeing it as real, the manifestation of illusion deceives him, and regarding the delusion of existence and non-existence, permanence, etc., it is deluded like illusion, thus deceiving all people. Being controlled by the power of evil views, they dwell on the extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. Regarding this, to accomplish the delusion of delusion by delusion is: some say that practicing the five fires accomplishes Brahma, the three staffs bring great power, the asceticism of birds is the lineage that desires to realize, the conduct of dogs is the Pleiades, and guarding at night is a fixed time. Regarding this, people of this doctrine say that the asceticism of fire and staffs is the asceticism of deluded views, like a thirsty deer, desiring water and chasing after mirages. Regarding this, due to the power of delusion, being deluded about the correct meaning is: the four ways of perceiving everything as permanent. Some people perceive four kinds of permanence, two kinds of saying there is no cause, four kinds of perceiving extremes, and four kinds of abandoning gods and humans, eighteen kinds are past extremes. Sixteen kinds of perceiving with thought, eight kinds of perceiving without thought, eight kinds of perceiving neither with nor without thought, seven kinds of holding to annihilation, and five kinds of holding to extremes, forty-four kinds are later extremes, and sixty-two kinds are holding to truth. Those are delusions about the meaning of truth. Regarding this, the delusion of cause is: some say that time ripens the aggregates, time brings forth all beings, time awakens from sleep, time causes birth, and time causes death, it is difficult to transcend time. Regarding this, people of this doctrine say that if time does everything, like space without support, seeds should produce fruit, and the cycle of the five realms of beings is also, a son is born to a mother without a father, and the same is true for a father without a mother, if there is no cause or condition, then the power of time diminishes. Some say that the father is a buffalo

The basis of all dharmas, like crystal water. Branches and leaves are also like that. It is the cause of all sentient beings. To this, those who hold this dharma say, just as a rope is mistaken for a snake, sentient beings are named due to delusion, self-nature is not established, it is the cause of others. How do sentient beings act? Some also say, merely knowing the twenty-five principles, with matted hair or the crown of the head, no matter in what ritual one abides, one will be liberated, there is no doubt about this. To this, those who hold this dharma say, if merely knowing numbers can transform into higher realms, then counting stones and wood should manifest gold and so on. Knowing numbers is like stones and wood, higher realms are like gold, if it contradicts worldly reasoning, then what need is there to speak of the ultimate meaning? This is like a hungry person saying I am counting numbers. Some also say, the birth of these sentient beings is not born from a cause, but is born naturally, for example, mushrooms on the grassland, there is no seed as a cause. To this, those who hold this dharma say, I have grasped from that example, relying on the earth, nourished by moisture, it is not without cause, but exists, it should be born from causes and conditions and karma. Therefore, due to the cause of delusion, the result will be deluded into the three lower realms. Due to the power of delusion, one does not see tranquility, does not understand that cause and effect are not deceiving, does not understand karma, clings to the five afflictions, therefore is born in the four places of birth. Animals are born from wombs and eggs, ghosts are born from heat and moisture, womb-born are hells, born by transformation. Although color, kind, form have no cold, there are no two-legged and four-legged, there are no footless kinds, in total there are four kinds. They harm each other, for the sake of protection they hide and fight, flee and use, beat and insult, kill and will be killed, they experience immeasurable suffering. Mouths like needle eyes and throats like horse tails, bellies as large as mountains, hands and feet as thin as awls, like wooden carts emitting smoke. Seeing pleasing food and drink, when they reach out to take it, there appear extremely terrifying men wearing armor, holding sharp weapons, seeing it turn into dust from behind, they have no freedom to take it, and suffer the pain of hunger. Some put food into their mouths, but it burns into flames and is scorched, some cannot even find pus and blood, they can only squeeze it out from their bodies. Some
