The answer is: In the ultimate sense, all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, so neither persons nor phenomena have any substance. Because there is no substance of a person, there is no power to refute even the name called Maitreya (བྱམས་པ་, Sanskrit: Maitreya, Romanized Sanskrit: Maitreya, Literal meaning: Loving-kindness). Because phenomena have no substance, there is no power to refute the five aggregates such as form, their emptiness, and their suchness. So, even in a dream, there is no result of practicing the six perfections, what need is there to mention reality? This is the meaning to be expressed. I have not truly seen who refutes, what refutes, and what kind of phenomenon is refuted. This is a summary of the meaning mentioned above. Who refutes refers to the person who refutes. What refutes refers to the words and letters used to refute. What is refuted refers to the object or meaning used to refute. Who is refuted refers to the person who seeks and questions faults. Since all these phenomena are empty of inherent existence in the ultimate sense, and I have not truly seen them, then who, what, and to whom will be refuted? This is the meaning to be expressed. I have not truly seen who is prophesied to be unsurpassed and perfectly complete enlightenment, who prophesies, and to whom the phenomenon of prophecy is made. This is to say that previously, Subhuti (རབ་འབྱོར།) praised the Bodhisattva Maitreya, saying, "This one is prophesied to be unsurpassed and perfectly complete enlightenment, ask him." This also shows that there is no substance in the ultimate sense. Who is prophesied refers to the Blessed One (བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།) himself who prophesies. Who prophesies refers to the cause or quality that is worthy of prophecy. To whom is prophesied refers to the Bodhisattva Maitreya himself. This shows that these also have no substance in the ultimate sense. All these phenomena are non-dual and indivisible, which is to say that the phenomena mentioned above, such as refutation and prophecy, have no substance in the ultimate sense, and are of one taste in emptiness. This is what is to be expressed.

Sharadvatiputra said: Have you directly realized those dharmas as they are described? This question is for those with characteristics, such as Shravakas, who want to directly realize the two non-Nirvanas. It is asked to show that it cannot be directly realized. Maitreya said: I have not directly realized those dharmas as they are described, because in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are empty by nature. The nature of dharmas is non-dual, and that is only conventionally labeled and spoken of. In the ultimate sense, both the one who directly realizes and the object to be directly realized are of one taste in emptiness, so it is shown that it is not directly realized. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra thought to himself, up to this point, it shows the practice of non-objectification. In between, Bodhisattva Maitreya showed the profound meaning that all dharmas are non-dual and cannot be directly realized, so Shariputra was delighted and praised Maitreya. Explaining such profound dharma can only be done by someone who has practiced the six perfections for a long time and has deep wisdom accustomed to the meaning of non-objectification. It is not within the realm of explanation for those with small roots of virtue and wisdom with characteristics, that is the meaning. Then, the Bhagavan said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? Have you truly seen the dharmas by which you are called an Arhat? This is said to eliminate the thoughts of Shravaka Arhats, such as, 'I am the one who has exhausted the outflows, I have done what needs to be done, I have abandoned the burden, I have attained Arhatship,' and the arising of conceptual thoughts with characteristics. He replied: Bhagavan, no. This is because the enemies of the three realms' afflictions have been subdued, and the name Arhat is merely nominally applied to the mere abandonment, but in reality, there is no dharma called Arhat, he replied. The Bhagavan said: Sharadvatiputra, it is so, up to I am undoubtedly the unsurpassed perfect

Up to the point of thinking that they will realize enlightenment, this is because the venerable Subhuti has previously shown that the nature of an Arhat does not exist, which is true. Similarly, the so-called prophecy is also non-existent from the ultimate point of view. If a Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom also clings to such characteristics, it is also non-existent from the ultimate point of view, but in the conventional truth, there is no doubt that they will realize unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, and they will not be frightened by emptiness. Then, the venerable Subhuti asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, how can a Bodhisattva Mahasattva perfect the six perfections and also come close to the all-knowingness?" This is because the Blessed One has previously prophesied that all dharmas are empty of nature from the ultimate point of view, and they do not think or discriminate that this is the dharma of realizing unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. But in the conventional truth, there is no doubt or hesitation whether they will realize unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, and they will surely realize unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Even if they can realize enlightenment in this way, it is impossible if they have not perfected the six perfections and have not accumulated the accumulations of merit and wisdom. So, how can they perfect the six perfections? How can they accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom? How can they come close to the all-knowingness? This is asking how to perfect the six perfections in the conventional truth. After asking this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti: "Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Giving, from the chapter called 'When' up to the forty-third chapter, abiding in great compassion in the conventional truth, they perfect the six perfections."
