It is taught that Bodhisattvas even dedicate their lives to fully embrace the profound Dharma. From "Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should train in this way" to "Seeing this benefit, I will also completely abandon myself for the sake of fully embracing the sacred Dharma, and even if my life is completely cut off, I will remain," it is explained that a non-retreating Bodhisattva will definitely manifest and awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thinking that this Dharma is definitely my Dharma, and not abandoning the sacred Dharma even for the sake of life, one should know that this is a non-retreating Bodhisattva. Furthermore, Subhuti, a non-retreating Bodhisattva Mahasattva has no timidity towards the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha when teaching the Dharma, from "Why is that? Because he has thoroughly obtained the dharani," it is explained that the non-retreating Bodhisattva understands the meaning and words of all the teachings spoken by the Bhagavan with wisdom, and because he has obtained the dharani of non-forgetfulness, he does not waste the merit of how to uphold the sacred Dharma. Then, from the venerable Subhuti asking the Bhagavan, "By thoroughly obtaining the dharani of upholding, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not waste the sutras spoken by the Tathagata," it is explained which dharanis, when obtained, will prevent the sutras spoken by the Tathagata from being wasted. The so-called "inexhaustible treasury dharani" refers to the wisdom of the Bodhisattva that penetrates all dharmas without obstruction, and even if countless doubts, questions, and realizations arise, there will be no exhaustion in answering, and multiple recollections will not be forgotten even in many lifetimes, which is called the inexhaustible dharani. With these two, wisdom and recollection, all the meanings and words of the teachings are held as dharani, like a vessel filled with things, hence it is called the inexhaustible treasury. The so-called treasury refers to ornaments and wealth such as precious jewels.

It is like a container for precious jewels. Just as a treasure chest, the wisdom and memory of a Bodhisattva are also containers for the sacred Dharma jewels. Because they are inexhaustible and not wasted, they are called the inexhaustible treasure chest dharani. The so-called "Ocean Seal" refers to being like the ocean, called the Ocean Seal. The wisdom and memory dharani of a Bodhisattva are also as deep as the ocean and difficult to fathom, so they are called the Ocean Seal. The so-called "Lotus Adornment" refers to a dharani that is like the wisdom of a Bodhisattva. For the benefit of sentient beings, it uses skillful means to act and abide in various ways in samsara, but is not defiled by the faults of samsara. Just as a lotus grows in water but is not defiled by the faults of water and mud, so it is called the Lotus Adornment. The so-called "Total Retention Dharani" refers to the wisdom and memory dharani of a Bodhisattva. Because it can totally retain the numerous profound and vast sutras spoken by the Tathagata, it is called the Total Retention Dharani. In order for a non-retreating Bodhisattva to obtain such a dharani, the sutras spoken by the Tathagata will not be wasted, that is its meaning. Praying to the Bhagavan, is what the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One said, only said by the Venerable Shariputra? Etc. If one possesses the above-mentioned dharanis, then the Bodhisattva can understand all languages and sounds without obstruction. Therefore, all the dharmas spoken by the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, worldly gods, and nagas will not be wasted. If one possesses these signs and ways, one should know that they are non-retreating Bodhisattvas, this is what is to be explained. The forty-first chapter of the extensive explanation of the One Hundred Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita. Chapter Forty-one, The Chapter on the Signs of Non-Retreat.
